Want to know how many Accelerated Reader™ points a book is worth? Points Scan lets you scan a book’s barcode with your smart phone and instantly link to AR™ information.
Straight Path Apps brings you the easiest, most convenient way to learn a book ‘s AR™ point value and level when you’re on the go. Simply scan the book’s ISBN (barcode) using your device's camera as a scanner and one screen later; you’ll see the book’s AR™ level, point value and quiz number. If your book doesn't have a barcode, no problem! Points Scan includes both a title and author search, as well.
If you find a book you want to remember, you can also save it in a Favorites list.

Ads inappropriate for kids
This app works fine, but it flashed an advertisement for another app. I understand that free apps have advertisements, but this app advertisement was entirely inappropriate for children. I am glad neither of my young kids were viewing this points scan app when the ad flashed up. The maker of Points Scan should more carefully vet their advertisers. I will be deleting this app in lieu of one that my children can always view.
App usually works
I like the idea of the app and it generally works. However, barcode scan feature would be great if it worked all the time. Searching for a book seems to work best by typing in last name only of author then looking to see what books that person has written. If you are lucky enough to find your book on the list, hooray! This makes being in a bookstore and searching to see if the book you selected is the appropriate level tedious, but it gets the job done!
I love it!!
I am impressed it works so easily to just scan the books ISBN barcode and it pops the info! I used to use the AR app, and it quit working after the last update. But, even if it was still working, I would want this for the scanning! I loved that app because it told me my kids’ scores and where they were vs. where they needed to be, but I’m loving this scanner!!
With Family Sharing set up, up to six family members can use this app.
