Description
TWINT is Switzerland’s digital cash. With TWINT, you can make convenient and secure payments using your smartphone.
All TWINT functions:
- Send and request money
- Make quick and secure payments in online shops
- Buy digital vouchers, pay for your parking and make donations in TWINT+, directly in the app
- Make convenient and secure payments at cash registers, in farm shops and vending machines
- Store customer loyalty cards and employee cards in the app
- Benefit from discount coupons and digital stamp cards
Switzerland’s biggest banks offer their own version of the TWINT app. Please search in the App Store for the name of your bank together with the term “TWINT”.
Top up credit:
The TWINT prepaid solution can be used by everyone, regardless of at which bank your account is
- Top up via your bank account (direct debit)
- Top up via a deposit slip
- Top up via a voucher code
Security:
TWINT is as secure as e-banking. All transactions take place in a secure environment. TWINT also does not disclose any personal data to third parties.
The money is not stored directly on the smartphone. In the event that your smartphone is stolen, TWINT can be blocked immediately by calling the hotline (0800 99 88 77).
What’s New
Version 38.0
We have one highlight for you with the new update:
- You can add your loyalty card (e.g. your Migros Cumulus card) directly in the QR scanner and use and show it immediately at the next payment.
We have also implemented small usability improvements and removed bugs.

Ideal für Hofläden
An der Kasse benutze ich TWINT nur im äussersten Notfall, da es - zumindest früher - sehr unzuverlässig funktionierte und sich deswegen die anderen Kunden sehr gedulden mussten. Heute ist das vielleicht besser, zumal man auch den QR Code am Terminal scannen kann. Mit den QR-Codes hat‘s soweit immer gut funktioniert. In den Hofläden ist TWINT toll. Einzig etwas störend ist dort, dass beim QR Code Scannen auf den Browser gewechselt wird und man dann von dort aus wieder auf die App wechseln muss.

Broken
Can’t login for days now. Called customer support and they have no idea when it will be fixed and tell to call later. Is this even a financial service? Just sad

Not very good
Not a good system. Swiss banks too stubborn to give up a bad idea. Payment is slower using this silly app rather than using a card.
Swiss banks: welcome to 2016, use Apple Pay that actually works better.
