Description

Quick-entry for Apple's Reminders app, with natural language input.

Remind Me Faster is designed to make adding a Reminder as quick as possible. Open the app and you're typing. Add a reminder and you're ready to type the next. The UI is optimised for getting an idea into Apple Reminder the moment it crosses your mind.

It works with and complements the built-in Reminders app that's already on your iPhone or iPad. Added reminders can be viewed in the built-in Reminders app.

• Set time or date alerts using natural language - e.g. "Reply to Mike tomorrow 10am".
• Set time or date alerts with as little as a tap, using preset times or durations.
• Set location alerts with a couple of taps.
• Select any of your lists, and quick-switch with left/right swipes.
• Set priority: • ! !! !!!
• Lock Screen launcher widget
• Share sheet extension
• URL scheme support
• Alternative app icons

Remind Me Faster is indie-made, lightweight, ad-free, and does not track you. Most functionality is available free of charge, with some extra features available as one-off purchases.

What’s New

Version 5.1

Version 5.1 brings improvements to share sheet, revamped settings, improved natural language reliability, and several bug fixes.

Share sheet improvements:
• The share sheet should now work in more places, and with less thinking required. Specifically:
• Remind Me Faster should now appear in the share sheet for many more apps, like Apple News or App Store.
• For apps that share a title and URL, these will be filled in the title and note fields in Remind Me Faster respectively.
• For apps that only provide a URL (such as Safari), Remind Me Faster will attempt to generate a useful title, based on the URL. This will be extracted from the last component of the URL, when possible. Failing that it will use the host name.

Settings revamp:
• New iconography, with reorganised layout and new drill-down sections for Preset times, preset locations, and natural language input.
• Preset Locations can be reordered, so you no longer need to create them in the order you want them to appear. Locations have also been migrated to SwiftData from Core Data (which you hopefully won’t notice).
• Simplified app theme selection.
• A new, optional, purchases overview screen, so you can see all in-app purchases in one place.

Natural language date detection:
• A number of tweaks made, including disabling inline predictions for the text fields, so that they no longer interfere with the date detection. This had a habit of scrambling and duplicating what you typed, which wasn’t helpful! Hopefully, no more.
• “Select next occurrence” should now work when “Auto-select dates” is disabled.

Bug fixes and tweaks:
• Updated design for natural language 'date detected' button.
• Title field now properly refocuses if you add a reminder with the notes field focused.
• Another attempt at fixing the bug where preset times would render incorrectly after crossing a timezone.
• Added minimum range to location radius stepper.
• Reworked custom date picker to better work with display zoom device setting.

Incredible app

I just want to preface this review by saying that I almost never give reviews, but this app is just so good I have to support it. I am a very forgetful but very “fast paced” person, so having an app that allows me to set reminders in mere seconds is an absolute lifesaver, and saved me a lot of money so I didn’t have to buy a virtual assistant or something. The only sort of feature I can really suggest is a home screen widget with minimal controls/ options so quick, preset time reminders can be jotted down even faster. But honestly that’s not even necessary because the app is already extremely fast and easy to use. On top of the fact thag it’s just very aesthetically pleasing and minimalist. Thank you developer for this fantastic app, I would say your “labor of love” has paid off. Hope this app blows up someday as it should.

Literally life-changing

As someone who struggles with ADD/ADHD, things often slip from my mind almost as soon as they appear. ANY friction between thinking of something and having it on my to-do list makes it less likely that that thing or idea will get remembered and addressed, and Remind Me Faster is the best tool I've found for elminating friction between my brain and my to do list. This app has made a significant difference in my life.

Remind Me Faster looks great, is super fast and lightweight, and it seems to be rock-solid and reliable, even using it on an M1 Mac. I super appreciate the small but high-value in app purchases, especially the different icons. The developer has been kind and responsive. I cannot recommend this app enough for anyone who uses a to-do system based on Reminders.

Awesome

I’ve had huge unfixable bugs with Reminders since a system upgrade 5 years ago. The keyboard freezes, there is like a 1 minute lag before a list opens, etc. I can’t find a suitable replacement yet after downloading a dozen reminder apps. I downloaded this a couple of years ago and originally gave it 4 stars because it didn’t have ability to set repeat reminders or be specific about a day and time. They have made upgrades in all these areas and now the app is perfect! It allows me to bypass my buggy app. I have ADD and sometimes just waiting for that app to open correctly I’d forget what I was setting the reminder for, lol. I live and die by my reminders app and this app solved a problem that bedeviled me for a couple of years.

Developer Response ,

Hi there! Thanks so much for the feedback.

It is actually possible set a reminder in advance, like you’ve described. There are multiple ways:

1. When you set a time you can keep pressing +24h to increment the days, into the future.

2. You can tap the three dots button to bring up a full calendar view, allowing you to pick whichever date or time you like.

3. You can use the natural language feature to type the date, like “xyz next Wednesday” - although this option is an in-app purchase.

Thanks for the feedback in repeating reminders too! I’m working on this for the next release, so keep an eye out for that :).
I hope this helps.
