Ratings and Reviews
For a $30 app (I know it’s free but without the app, the $30 BT transmitter is useless), I expected a lot more.
When the app crashes, the battery setup is lost and returns to “USER”. All battery specific data that had been logged to that point is lost. Worse, the parameters set to correctly match your specific batteries, are also reset.
While there are daily, monthly and yearly graphs for various items, they are static and offer very limited information.
My list goes on but you get the point. The app has tremendous potential. Hopefully Renogy will take some of the $4000+ I just paid them in panels, controller, connectors... and improve the app.
Not up to Renogy’s standards
I’ve been a big fan of Renogy’s hardware for quite some time. This application comes as a disappointment. The biggest fault is the stupid password that needs to be entered every time an adjustment is needed. At the very least let the user define their own password or give them the option to disable it. My #2 issue is the lack of documentation or contex sensitive Help. The app uses cryptic abbreviations that require at the very least a decoder ring to understand what the field is. Better yet, a description of what the item is and possibly an example. I’m greatly disappointed in the app and feel it hinders the actual usefulness of the Bluetooth module.
I have no issues connecting at all. The information is all updated and stored. Updates nicely in real time and allows me to track what is happening through the controller. I do have some other devices that allow me track what actually makes it into the battery bank but I do not use the load outputs. The only thing I noticed is that the numbers for generating capacity are mistakenly stored in power consumption until you drill down.
With Family Sharing set up, up to six family members can use this app.
