RPG Notebook will help you build worlds, manage campaigns, and keep your notes tightly organized. Here are some of its great features:
*CAMPAIGNS: Choose a name, select a theme that matches your setting, and simply start filling it with all your ideas.
*ENTRIES: They can be customized any way you like with 8 types of sections (from simple text fields to trackers, checklists, and images) that you can name and place in any order you like.
*TEMPLATES: If there's a section arrangement that you like, save it as a template for future use.
*HYPERLINKS: When you finish writing something, the app checks if your text contains any phrases that match an existing entry or group name and automatically creates a link for you.
*MAPS: Every campaign has a dedicated segment where numerous maps can be added.
*MAP PINS: You can add simple note pins or special pins that link to an entry, group, or map.
*JOURNAL: Journal notes will help you keep track of important events that happened during your sessions.
*THEMES: The fantasy theme is great for the most popular tabletop RPG systems like dnd 5e or pathfinder, but the app also has themes for other settings: cthulhu, sci-fi, cyberpunk, post-apocalyptic, steampunk and wuxia.
*ICONS: There are over 4000 built-in icons and 40 colors that you can use in your entries, but you can also add your own.
*BACKUP: You can create a backup file and store it locally or export it so it can be shared with other devices.
*MODES: Both light and dark modes are supported.
*EVERYTHING IN YOUR POCKET: No more forgotten or lost notes. You will always be prepared for the next session or be able to immediately write down ideas that suddenly come to your mind wherever you are! :)
I used this for an old campaign and it was so useful I spent a long time trying to find it again as it was connected to an old device and Apple ID I no longer have access to. There’s ads now but there are also more features so the trade off is worth it in my opinion and the ads aren’t too frequent. I would love to purchase the ad free version and support the developers but the fact there is no account or way to connect the app between different devices is a bit of a deal breaker + that there’s no website or pc version as I’m stuck doing all the planning on my phone lol.
Not limited to D&D

I was looking for an app to help with being a game master for the old West End Games Star Wars D6 RPG, which came out years before there was an internet, when everything we did was on paper notebooks. Everything I could find out there was heavily leaning towards D&D or Pathfinder. This app is awesome! All the ways things can link, and the myriad ways you can organize assets like NPCs and maps and towns and continents and worlds and star systems, it’s just very open to working with you and not limiting how you do things. It lets me organize all my assets in a way that makes sense to me, and then I can write up an episode overview that has the links to all the assets I might use so that with a touch of a button, I have the right description for the book shop my characters are entering or the NPC they need to get information from. The developer is also very responsive.Highly recommended!
Extremely useful, but…

It could use some extra functionality in the journal for play-by-post games, like turning off name links for a note—I’d love to be able to keep whole sessions and refer back to them, without linking back to a character everywhere their name is mentioned. The ability to italicize text (+ other text editor functions?) would also be nice. (My more minor request is that we be able to create trackers that reset to zero rather than full, for things like accumulation of wounds. But it’s pretty easy to just decrease them manually.)Still, it’s a very useful app, and an excellent place to save characters in a system-neutral way. Most of these apps just do D&D, and the ones that don’t usually only do a specific other system. This one is very customizable, and I bought the full version immediately after seeing what it could do.
Great simple Campaign app
Davidiculous
So far I really like this app, simple to use, and I’m able to do a brief layout of the campaign, creating my own “folders” for different things. Something I would like to see is some world building tools, something to kind of combine the campaigns together. I have a few different campaigns that I’ve added, but having something to build on my lore of my world it self would be nice. I have homebrew rules that are not campaign specific, right now I just have all my rules set as its own campaign section. Also the ability for my campaigns to almost be linked to each other, so if I want to reference a NPC I could search in one campaign and have it take me to that NPC from the other campaign.
• Updated several packages.
• Minor bug fixes.
