RUN-CHICKEN 4+

I was under the impression when I bought my door that I could control it via the app. The app has some use but it doesn’t show or control the activity of the door unless you’re literally standing right next to it. And in that case you don’t need the app. Disappointing.

OK after reading these reviews everyone is so concerned with themself…….

The ONLY WAY to program the door so it opens at a certain time and closes at a certain time you have to flash a light sequence to the sensor via this app! It uses the phone to flash light at it. It’s pretty ingenious if you ask me.

And then next week to change it, you need to walk up to it again and flash a different light sequence to reprogram it using the only method, this app! I’ve been using the run chicken door for two years now I have four of them and I won’t buy anything else! I am in Michigan. I would love to reprogram the chicken door from a far but I’m sure that chicken door would cost more like five or $600 not the 120 that you pay for this one it doesn’t have that technology available. If you find one available like that let me know.

If you’re downloading this app to install your Run Chicken door do as the name suggest and RUN!! Initiate a return and don’t look back. This product is terrible and customer service is a hassle.
I also I’m very skeptical why this product even has an app. It’s not really app enabled. You have to hold your phone up to the device for the app to do anything. It’s not like you can use your phone as a remote or make changes remotely. All of the animation this device does could be done with like 3 buttons on the face of the unit. It makes me question what personal information this company outside of the USA is looking to gather from our cellular devices through this app.
