some ideas :)

I really love this game, the soft music and low light along with the exploration and avoiding danger makes it calming and exciting at the same time and it’s a really unique experience. i hope this game gets expanded on more and some more environments and creatures to discover are added as i really enjoy those, i’d like some more friendly creatures too. i think it would also be nice if the frequency of enemy characters were lowered in some areas to give time to look at the friendly creatures. another small thing, i would really appreciate a mode where you can disable certain enemy creatures because for the most part this game is good for my anxiety with the calming atmosphere while still being exciting but the big fish that jumps out from the dark and chomps at you sort of kills that for me, as jump scares are a lot harder for me to cope with than just being chased and it is hard for my anxiety to handle at times. it’s a cool concept and i’m sure plenty would enjoy it! i just know i’m not the only person who can’t deal with jump scares specifically. one more idea, maybe some friendly creatures you can interact with somehow, or that will interact with you in some way, maybe follow you around for a bit? just an idea :) this game has a lot of potential and i enjoy it a lot, so i hope it continues to be worked on and that any of my feedback was even a little helpful. thank you for taking the time to read this <3

i can tell Seashine wasn’t made just because a game developer sat down at their desk and thought, “i need to make a game to earn me some money.” Seashine is a passion project, made because developer Patrick Ellis wanted to make a beautiful piece of art, a game that’s just.... i don’t know the right positive adjective to describe this. i first downloaded the game in 2015, and i’ve been on and off throughout the years. Seashine is just so impossibly beautiful. i just love the graphics and the soundtrack, both of which deserve their own essays of appreciation. for the level of quality and beauty in this game, it’s surprising that it doesn’t eat up my battery when i play. i love the details and culture provided by the flora and fauna descriptions. in the abyss, you are always lost, and that makes you perfectly at home. i think it’s really important to mention that, for a free mobile game, the ads in Seashine are sparse and easy to skip. i’ve never been redirected to download a game due to challenging X or skip buttons on an advertisement, and they only show up every three games - which is still amazing, since usually games are multiple minutes long. you CAN make in-app purchases, but they’re for currency that is already very easy to collect, and this game is obviously not structured to encourage you to spend money on it. even though, if Seashine was a premium game, i’d gladly buy it. i love your game so much. thank you for making this game, Patrick Ellis.

One of the best mobile game I have ever gotten

I was just browsing games to see what cheap heartless game I could get sick of in 5 minutes to download next when suddenly seashine showed up as a suggestion. When I first went through the tutorial I instantly fell in love. I love the occasional surface relics like sunken ships or treasure chests that appear randomly and I love the way you integrate the biomes with the creatures and the soundtrack is impeccable.

One idea I had is an alternative story mode in addition to the normal open world mode. When you are playing the game you can hear what I assume is the players jellyfish calling out into the void and other similar creatures calling back. So I was thinking, a good storymode would be you navigating a massive world, uncovering the history of The Ancients and at the end you finally reunite with your family, after wandering the darkness, calling out in longing for so long, you at last make it home to safety and your kind.

Anyways just an idea, i appreciate the lack of necessity for in app purchases and practical absence of ads. Really it allows me to enjoy the game more. Thank you for this amazing piece of art you call a game.
