Secret City 2 – F2P 9+

I had been enjoying the game, but got to the rope puzzle where you have to rotate the knots and supposedly slide them. The rotating worked, but the knots didn’t slide at all. They highlighted in blue, but wouldn’t move when you try to drag them. I finally figured out a work-around, and the rest of the game was great. Even the bonus game was F2P!

The Good: The game is enjoyable, and the scenery and creatures creative. There are good mini games, about medium difficulty, and 18 hos. Some of the hos are quite original. There are morphing statues, Aquantis pages to collect, and starfish to find to use as currency for an aquarium. The Bad: 1. The story is not well-developed. You are just constantly chasing a villain from room to room, with a few other random characters thrown in. 2. One of the hos is just tapping on pieces of paper to find items. You only find 3 at a time, and they’re all hidden behind the papers, so you are literally just tap tap tapping all over the screen. Very annoying. 3. In the Extras, you find your aquarium, where you buy fish to fill it with your starfish currency. When you click on the aquarium, it is a blank white screen. You can tap around the blank screen randomly and find things to buy, but you never see them in your aquarium. 4. Also, in Extras, you can replay the hos. Except the last one. It says it can’t be played until it’s played in the game, which it was.

I’m late to this one and I can’t believe that the magnifying glass “puzzle” is still crashing! I live for all these games. I’ve played every F2P they have but I think this is the first time I’ve had an issue with it crashing. Maybe because they have so many games they haven’t gotten around to fixing this one but I’m not sure if that’s the case…

12/30 Update
The magnifying glass puzzle still doesn’t work. Trying to drag it around the screen caused the puzzle to exit and when you go back to play it again it doesn’t work and there’s this grey box over the tombstone. Sad because I’ve check for the update every other day and was excited to see there was finally one. Like I mentioned in my first update I’ve played every F2P and similar games aren’t as good. They are the only games I constantly play so I’m excited when there’s a new one. This is the only one that’s ever had such a problem which in reality is pretty impressive.
