I’m honestly not sure what the point of rating the app is. It’s more of a reflection on the quality of SESLOC if I’m being honest. But I’ve been banking with SESLOC for over 15 years and I’ve been using their mobile app since I purchased my first smartphone. It’s always been rock solid, always stable, thoughtful privacy features, and on par to the online banking experience for as long as I can remember. I’ve never experienced random crashes or authentication issues beyond first time setup. But I’d rather have to jump through an extra hoop and make sure it’s really me signing in to my account, than have it be a breeze for anybody to sign in to my account, ya know what I mean? It’s also a pain when you switch apps, or answer a text when transferring funds and you have to re-sign in. But again, great safety feature so that somebody can’t just run by and grab my phone and their in. It’s the age old battle between convenience and safety, not SESLOC or the dev’s fault. I’ve used Bank of America, Wells Fargo, city, and Sesloc’s mobile apps. Honestly, I think Sesloc’s is the best. It’s simple, well organized, and emulates their desktop website perfectly. It’s a masterfully translated experience that I take for granted right up until I have to pay off my credit card through City Bank. And then I’m immediately reminded how grateful I am for the effort put into this app. Happens to be pretty representative of the banking experience at SESLOC too. So that’s a fun little bow to tie this whole review together.

All of the functions are pretty easy to find, but manipulating the fields can be a real pain. I find myself selecting some thing in a drop-down list, and then having to re-select it over and over. Also, just scrolling through pages in the app end up taking me to places I don’t want to be. The transfer pages are really clunky. It takes a lot of scrolling on the transfer page. To get to where you wanna go to enter data. I don’t be now. It’s just hard to get around in the application.

SESLOC is great, and the app works very well until it doesn’t. The problem is the lockout function when you either can’t remember your password or the Touch ID on your phone isn’t working well. I’m currently locked out for probably the 5th time, because every time it happens I have to reset my password, and it can’t be the same as before which drives you further into obscure passwords that you are even less likely to remember. Get rid of the limit on Touch ID attempts or password guesses and things will go a lot better, considering every time I get locked out it’s the middle of the night, trying to pay bills and the call center is closed and I can’t unlock my account.

I usually don’t leave reviews but I feel like Sesloc deserves this one. I have been with them for about a decade now and I’ve moved all over the country & have never needed to switch banks. The interface of this app is so user friendly and easy to use, I have been able to use it anywhere I go as my main source of banking. I recommend it to all my friends and family.
