Works for me.

I’m a guitar player expanding my skill set by learning the piano. I used Yousician to get a basic knowledge of piano nomenclature then turned to this. As a novice. i find it helpful to find several versions from simple to complex of many songs. Also. The few songs I’ve searched for I was able to find at least some version. The play the song feature helps. (If you’re thinking it would make a good backing track. No. But for an idea of how the song should sound. It’s good) I bought the pro (whatever they call it) version. Already favorited enough songs to make it worth it.

Good app, annoying interface

I do like this app. The music selection is good and the prices are reasonable. But I really don’t like the interface. For instance it doesn’t remember my search history so I have to retype the entire search string/phrase every time I want to find a song. And when I favorite a song, the sample page is saved to my wish list. Cool, but there is no way to get back to the purchase page from my wish list; I have to go back to search and start all over, again typing the entire search string, and then dig to find the one I favorited. I have not purchased more than once because I found the process so annoying that I gave up.

And about support. I want to request support for something like this rather than write a review, but it requires an email session and since I don’t have email on my iPad I can’t request support. That’s also annoying because I’m already logged in, they should know something about my account, so let me contact support from my account.

Good, but with some rough edges

I use this app often, and it’s good. But it’s mostly ideal for piano, guitar and vocal. As a Sax player there are a few annoyances:
1) for songs that to select an instrument for transposition (like tenor sax), it will transpose written notes, but leaves all of the chord notations in concert pitch (as a piano player would need). Why not transpose both notes and chords for those that read notes but care about the chord changes for soloing or embellishing the lines? My workaround is to leave it on “Vocal” and then change the key to whatever I need (so up a full step for tenor Sax), which also changes all the chords. e app can already transpose the chords, but they just don’t do it when you change the instrument.
2) loads slow, and crashes way too often. Sometimes just freezes and eventually crashes.
3) not enough real book and lead sheets for Bb or Eb transposing imstruments. Boat loads for C instruments.
4) can sort set lists by name. I use my set lists as folders too. Not just for gig set lists. It would be great to be able to sort the songs in different ways for easier navigation.
5) many of the charts that are based on the well-known recordings do not indicate or include the same intro lengths or sometimes the interludes in the middle of the songs. So, you have to know how many bars the recording has before the sheet music is lined up to a backing track. Beatles Let It Be, or Shallow are a couple examples.
