Cured my insomnia
Because of a tragic event, I had insomnia for almost a year. This app along with Dr. Meadows booked, changed me forever. I was over drinking at night to overcome my insomnia and that became a secondary problem, an evening addiction that was only destined to become a true, tangible problem, along with the fact that I had created a fear of not sleeping without it. You cannot expect instant results but if you stick to the principles, practice them as instructed, you will overtime feel your mind starting to calm down when it’s time to go to sleep. I used to get so much anxiety at dusk knowing that bedtime would soon be approaching. Going to my bed I would feel terror. My heart would race, I would breathe heavy to the point that I just wanted to cry because I knew I was in for another sleepless night anticipating more to come. The app and book helped me to realize that once I could be OK with wakefulness and resting in bed without any expectation of myself to go to sleep, sleep would come, and it absolutely did. That will be the hardest thing you have to train your brain to come to terms with, not stressing about being awake. Because of this app/book I am sleeping 7-8 hours at night, waking up restful and happy! I have given up liquor completely. Highly recommend!
This is the best sleep course ever - got rid of my insomnia
I have struggled with insomnia on and off for about 2 years. I’ve listened to every podcast there is out there to help, on one of the podcasts I listen to someone recommended this app. Of course I was hesitant because I had never found something that fully cured my insomnia. It would get better for a couple weeks/months but it would always come back. With the tools that I’ve learned in this 30 day course I am confident that whatever comes up, I will be able to move forward with my life. This course is only $30 and has tons of other courses that you can take and I’m excited to try them. I just finished the 30 day insomnia sleep course and ever since I started I’ve been sleeping at least 7 hours a night. I can’t say enough good things about this course, I highly recommend!
Actually helped
About two months ago I started experiencing very intense insomnia after one night of bad sleep that snowballed. I panicked and starting reading everything about insomnia, which just made things worse. The more I read the less sleep I got. I tried CBT-I but it didn’t work for me (even though I like CBT for other things). I had sleep medicine from my doctor that only worked occasionally. I tried melatonin and valerian root, nothing worked. I finally thought I’d try ACT and stumbled upon this app. 30 days later and I’m not afraid of sleep. I sleep well most nights. This could just be regression to the mean, but the app helped me realize that I can’t control sleep. CBT had too many rules for me and my insomnia was definitely a result of anxiety about sleep, so a program short on rules and high on acceptance was great for my particular brain.
