Description

*Featured as "Essential apps for Developers" since 2021*

Say goodbye to digging through old notes & projects for your best snippets with the elegant organisation of Snippit. You'll write code faster than ever before, dragging and dropping your best work into any editor.

You get gorgeous syntax highlighting for 180+ languages.

*No subscription*. Try for free with a few snippets, and if you like it, upgrade with a *one time purchase* for more themes, better image exporting options, and more.

Privacy means everything. Your code is only on your devices or iCloud servers, and we have no way to access it.

Organisation

· Add tags to snippets to quickly reference them
· Keep multiple pieces of code in one snippet to make it even easier to use
· Place your snippets in folders to keep them tidied away
· Add notes if you need them, or hide them if you don't for even more room to type

Customisation

· Pick from dozens of themes, including light and dark, which apply to your editor & images
· Make bright and wonderful tags, or keep them subdued for that minimal look
· Enable invisible characters, decide if lines should wrap, and more

Synchronisation

· Use iCloud to sync all your snippets across all your devices
· The iOS, iPadOS and macOS apps are all included in one single free purchase
· Never worry about losing your snippets if you grab a new Mac - just sign into iCloud and they'll come-back
· Upload snippets as gists to Github, either public or private

Everything Else

· Use the new menu bar item to quickly grab your snippets without having to open the app
· Export beautiful images of your code to use in your blog or on social media

Privacy
· Your data belongs to you, and you alone. I can't access it, and it only leaves your device if you have iCloud enabled.
· The analytics in the app are fully anonymous. The app tracks things like if a snippet or tag is created, with no further information, just so I can count how many of each exist globally.

What’s New

Version 4.3.3

You can now edit the color on an existing tag, and there's more colors to choose from.

When you select something in the sidebar, you can now add an extra filter using the little filter button next to the search bar. So you can now select something like your favourites, or a language, and then apply a second filter for tag/folder.

Excellent app, improvement suggestion

the developer did a great job with the app and its interface. everything works and syncs to all other devices without an issue.

the only reason why i didnt give this a 5 star rating is because of the navigation/editing snippets.
when you're trying to add tags, you have to open the snippet, select the tags, make your selection then back out the selection - instead of just typing in the pre existing ones. it's cumbersome and tidious at times.

when trying to drag a snippet to a folder - it doesnt work. you have to rt click and then "add to folder" -- please add this ability!

when adding a snippet, there's no input field- just copy from clipboard. that feature is great but the TextFieldUI needs to be there so a user can make final edits before saving.

the app is very clever, i can literally see how it was created in Xcode. splitnavigationview, TableViewUI, etc... great job otherwise

Nice and easy

Nice and to get 5 stars from me it just need a few things as a way to see the snappit title in the folder/Snippit list as it seem they only show the tags if they are atttach to it. The other thing is I have no idea where this file is being saved and what the filename is.

Nice but clunky

Two stars for simplicity, syntax highlighting, and the use of tabs. However, it's frustrating because it lacks some very basic and common-sense functionality:

- You can't select a "language" and then narrow down the selection by tags. For example, I have Python and Bash functions. If I set the snippet language to "Python", I want to be able to narrow the selection to "function" tags when selecting the language.
- You can't edit tag colors; you can only rename or delete them.
- There aren't enough color options for tags.

Developer Response ,

If you update the app to 4.3.3, you'll find there's more colors, you can edit your tags inline instead of just renaming/deleting, and you can add a filter to the middle column!
