Needs to work and it just doesn’t

Source Audio put out a great product in the C4 Synth, so it’s a real shame the mobile app that is critically important for swapping out presets fails to load any of them. Since the app requires and internet connection even to access presets you have stored in your “library”, I was basically unable to edit the device, and this was an ongoing product. Yes, there is the desktop editor but that isn’t always an option once you install the pedal to a pedalboard. I was finally able to access some other presets I had burned to the pedal using a $3 MIDI app I had to separately purchase. I hate to think how many people bought this excellent pedal and never got to see what it can do because of these connectivity issues. Hopefully will be improved, but the other reviews across a long period of time do not leave me encouraged.

Update Breaks TRS Functionality

Not only have they dumbed down the interface, but TRS connectivity is virtually useless. For the C4, you can sample stuff that’s pre-existing in your library, but cannot burn to pedal using TRS. You also cannot sample Community Patches via TRS. The best part of the pedal (easy changes on the fly) is a thing of the past. SA looks like they’re pushing the USB-B mini port over the TRS to phone. I’m so glad that the new Future Impact Synth has been released, because not only is it a better pedal overall, but my reason for using the C4 was the (previously) easy editing on the fly. Unless this is fixed soon, I’m selling my SA stuff.

Unusable without reliable usb functionality

I’m sad to say that Neuro3 app is of no use to me, because the ability to connect iPad to Ventris is unreliable.
I updated the firmware on my Ventris pedal, with the latest desktop app,
and still the pedal repeatedly disconnects from the iPad, and stops responding to the app.
Tried different cables, without improvement.
I really don’t understand, after all this time, why reliable usb is so hard to implement :(
Another big disappointment is the tiny grey lettering against grey background, that is used to label all the knobs.
Please use a large font with contrasting color, to make the labels easier to read.
I thank Source Audio for trying to improve the app with this update, but it needs the USB to stay connected when you are using it.
I sincerely hope they are successful in business, and in fixing this app.
