Making Progress But Still Major Design Improvements Needed
The app has sort of improved over time but it is still a very poorly designed iPhone app. The interface hasn’t been updated for larger iPhone screens so everything feels shrunk down for a smaller phone which leaves these big black boxes around the edges. The screenshots for the app are totally not what the app looks like on an iPhone X. Sometimes Face ID activates but usually I have to enter my password. It’s difficult to navigate the application. I have banking apps from many different banks and Southland is the only banking app I have seen where you can’t see your balance when you login. It’s ironic that I have to select “Quick Account View” just to see my balance! There is no cohesive navigation and I often find myself lost in the menu options trying to figure out where something might be. My hope is that Southland brings their iOS app into the modern age ASAP. They’re a fantastic credit union and am eager for an application to match.
This App works just fine. Very easy to use and understand. Was able to make deposit very quickly. Login info and security exactly the same as desktop. I love it!
I don’t know which is faster, calling the automated system to check your balance or waiting for this app to load. It’s extremely slow, it does not fit the whole screen on my iPhone, Face ID just won’t work, even thought the settings are on for it. It’s been like this for over a year and it’s clear that southland does not care. Lately it’s been even more slow. It’s is a very inconvenient app.
