Lost all downloaded issues
I had a couple years worth of issues downloaded with old app that at least I could read and download new magazines as they came out. With this new “upgraded” app not only did I lose all of the downloaded magazines I had, it will not allow me to re-download those magazines (won’t even show them to me) it will only give me the option of purchasing old and new magazines even though my iTunes subscription for the magazine is still active. Sadly I have had this problem with other magazines that use Zinio and they don’t seem to care that these problems are happening.
Update, opened the app this morning and got a pop-up saying sync issues had been fixed, sorry no change still lost all of my downloaded issues, still shows no magazines available in library, still wants me to pay for any issue I want to download even though my subscription is active (and has been for the last couple of years).
I thought the previous Stereophile App was pathetic but at least I could manage to read the magazine for a few minutes between each of the crashes - that is, once I signed out/in to restore my library every time I started the app since it could never remember that I am a paying subscriber.
However the new Stereophile, powered by Zinio, has taken incompetence of app design to a whole new level. Years worth of issues that I have purchased are now in limbo and totally inaccessible due either to untalented or uncaring individuals behind the scenes. It’s possible I’ll never see those back issues again so I’ll be cutting my losses by cancelling my current subscription.
If you want to actually read Stereophile magazine do yourself a favor and get the old-fashioned paper version or try to read it online.
With the new application I not only have been unable to download the new June issue that just came out, but I have also been unable to read or re-load the past issues that I had in my library. What do you expect me to do? I will probably just cancel my subscription and ask for a full reimbursement. It is really a stupid way for any company to lose loyal subscribers like me, especially for not performing as expected. I gave this app a 1 star rating because it does not allow me to give it anything lower, but I do give it a 0 rating.
