Ratings and Reviews
Fine Idea, Poorly Executed
This app was a decent idea, but from what I’ve seen the anonymity is being abused. If you report someone, you are typically told to tell a teacher or principal. What’s the point of keeping STOPIt anonymous if you end up talking to someone face to face. Just tell an adult directly instead of going through the process of reporting someone. I also don’t particularly like what usually happens once a student is reported. Even if they didn’t do anything wrong, they are searched, sometimes pulled out of class, and watched closely for the rest of the year. It would certainly make me feel uncomfortable and anxious to know that what I do is being monitored frequently. I just wouldn’t feel safe. This app also allows bullies to report other students and get away with it. This is again because of it being purely anonymous. If this app is new to your school, you should be worried about who you’ve had problems with in the past. Don’t put any targets on your back, because chances are, you’ll be reported. StopIt is being used as a threat by students, not a way to help them.
good in theory bad in practice
My school uses this app but so far it hasn’t really done anything meaningful. Besides being a laughingstock among every student (thus they deleted it quickly from their phones) this app due to its anonymity is exploited for bad purposes to make threats as sick jokes or report others out of spite. The anonymity of this app means that anyone can report anyone even if they aren’t doing anything wrong and get away with it. The way staff also tends to respond to these reports is questionable too as they could pull an innocent kid out of class and take other drastic measures that could make them feel unsafe because they didn’t verify the report.
Also, i read somewhere that reviews on the App Store are checked before they’re actually published. Yet the amount of ‘reviews’ of this app using deadly tragedies and other disturbing topics to make memes for clout is actually disgusting.
Good App?
The first thing that was a good app is the app it needs a little bit of the app and it keeps crashing when it gets fixed it will update the game to a new version and it will not work again for a while to get it fixed it is the only app I have to use it for a while to update the game I love the app it keeps crashing and it crashes when it crashes on the iPhone to get the rest of the screen to make the app useless for the iPad to fix the problem and I have no problem downloading the game and the update to the game I can’t play this app it crashes all my times I can’t even get to the screen to play the app it crashes every time I try to open the game it keeps me on my screen to get the screen and then it takes forever to get the game and it will play the same thing I have.
