Can’t believe this hasn’t been done before!

this app is perfect for anyone trying to watch, or understand, rocket launches. Being able to watch any launch with a live stream is a game changer, and the design of the app is straight-up COOL. I check this app every day, and set up notifications so I don’t miss a launch.

Neat App, But Could Be Better

I initially wrote a review for this app when it first launched (no pun intended). At the time I gave it a 4/5 stars. I thought it was a great app that could have been better with some suggestions. However, these suggestions were never implemented into the app.

The suggestions were:
- A dark mode, especially for night launches.
- An Apple Watch application to check launches on the go from my wrist.
- Home Screen (and now Lock Screen with IOS 16) widgets to see what or when is the next launch without having to open the app every time.

My biggest problem with the application, however, is that the in-app ISS locater is wrong. The map displays the ISS’ location ahead of time than where it actually is. Other than that, I think Supercluster is a neat app. I love being able to checkout the new articles and see who is in space in the Astronauts tab. I love the suggested viewing spots for upcoming launches, and seeing what spacecrafts are parked at the ISS. I just really think Supercluster could be improved more and I’m certain that it will in time.

Notifications do NOT work

The launch notifications are not working. For me, this was the whole point of downloading the app. So it is useless unless I check it every day.

Another reviewer mentioned adding the ability to choose your location(s), instead of seeing all launches around world. This would be extremely useful. I want to know when launches near me are happening.

If I start receiving notifications again, I will update my review to 5 stars.

Thanks for the review — sorry you've been having issues with notifications. Optimizing notifications has been a constant conversation here at Supercluster. Originally we set automatic notifications for specific events — 24 hours before launch, 10 minutes before launch, etc. The issue with this method is that launches frequently undergo several, sometimes dozens of delays or scrubs to later launch windows. Each of these delays, in the previous automated system, would then trigger a cascading series of notifications that were mostly not useful and could quickly become annoying for our users. Our current system is an effort to streamline notifications. In settings, you can choose to opt into settings for 1) when new launches are added and 2) a "launching now" notification when a launch is both imminent, and we have solid reporting that a scrub or delay is unlikely. In the future we are open to further updating this system, but currently this has proven most practical for our users. Per your note about choosing location — we totally agree. This has been a technical challenge to implement but we plan to add this filter to a future build.
