Version 4.2.1

Update: We fixed a bug that was preventing some members from seeing provider details after filtering search results by specialty. This was specifically impacting 'Otolaryngology (Ear, Nose, and Throat)' specialists. All specialty filters are now working as expected.

Additionally, we made some changes to the experience when viewing an archived policy. The search location field will now be disabled and there will be an "unavailable" label.

Nevermind transparency, get price certainty!

So I have been using the Bind app for a couple of years. I don’t think I can ever go back to the price uncertainty of other plans. What you see before a visit is what you get billed after! No surprises. Thank you!!! I also like that I can see options and how to save money if I go somewhere else. Please integrate pharmacy info. I know it is not fair to expect my drug plan to be as cool as this, but it sure would be nice.

Useless app that is just a data grab

I seriously hate this app. I have had this insurance and app for 3 years. I actually save money - because I avoid going to the darn doctor because this whole insurance plan is so frustrating.

It’s great if you never need anything done - but good grief try to find a headache specialist on this app. Sure, you can find a neurologist - but you literally have to call every single neurologist listed to find one that specializes in headaches.

Or try to find a hand surgeon. Nope - it’s going to show you every orthopedic doctor. Spine surgeons, knee surgeons, etc. same thing, you have to call every doctor in the list to see if you can find a hand surgeon.

There are also numerous doctors that do not have phone numbers to even contact them at. That’s why I believe this is a useless app and is nothing more than a data grab. My insurance company has no reason at all to know my internet search history, access to my contacts stored in my phone, or any of the other information that they are taking anytime you pick up your phone. Deleting the app.

First, we want to be clear: Surest does not access your internet search history, the contacts you've stored in your phone, etc. We only have access to what members authorize to share as users of the plan. We adhere to strict protection of any data deemed Personally Identifiable Information.


This year we improved the Surest app experience with new screens with more information about the services you might be considering, how they're covered under your Surest plan, and the providers you can consider receiving these services from. We've also made it easier to find contact information with a 'Scheduling info' button. Starting a search with a condition, procedure, or practitioner's name hasn't changed.

Dishonest about claim processing

The app itself is okay. The coverage is highly dishonest. They send emails saying telemedicine visits with included health or Doctor On Demand are free, approve the claim on date of service, then reject it 4 days later leaving you with a full bill like you’re uninsured. When you ‘have questions’ it says the claim should be covered in the app. Chat and calling is little help, they ultimately say ‘we can get a solution by escalating this to a supervisor, they’ll reach out shortly’. A few weeks later, no response. I called back, and they go: ‘oh, this wasn’t fixed yet?’

Typical experience with UHC: deny claims and send you down an endless rabbit hole to nowhere until you pay for a claim that they advertise as covered with no patient responsibility. Shocker.
