Critical Acclaim

* “Through a combination of a choose-your-own-adventure-style visual novel and a Paradox-esque game, you have to pull the young republic out of a terrible recession while dealing with entrenched, corrupt political factions and a looming border conflict.” - PC Gamer

* “The press will lie. Parliament will ask you to sign bills with misleading titles. The people will inspire a song called "My Electorate Are Stupid Pigs". Your principles may be your strongest weapon or your downfall. This is politics. This is Suzerain.” - Rock Paper Shotgun

Really quite well made

I have been enjoying this time killer the past few days, after developing the nation successfully (in whichever way you desire, be it fascist, communist, or somewhere in the middle) the replay value really drops off. It is a short game but absolutely packed with engaging content and several different paths to choose. Only complaints I have are that its too short and the map is quite small, after winning a second term I was extremely eager to continue developing, only to learn that you will only ever play 1 term. Regardless I enjoyed it despite having to rush through lots of text for every play-through after the first.

4 bucks is cheap, if you are political or if you enjoy paradox games and similar genres, try this out.

Great game, wish it gave a little more freedom

I’ve spent nights staying up until 5 am playing this game over my Christmas break. It’s wonderful. The story is engaging, the policies and strategy is challenging and fun, and the overall experience is highly enjoyable.

That being said, overall there is a strong narrative that is set. The game is fairly linear. While your actions and choice do effect the story line, certain story elements are set in stone. This limits your ability to make broader choices, focus on threats when you when want to, and forces you into some unnecessary risk. Other then that, it’s wonderful.

Never Forget.

As I rot away in my prison cell as the first impeached president in Sordland’s history, I can’t help but wonder where it all went wrong?

Everything I did was for my brothers and sisters of Sordland.

I think back to the cold, rainy evening I came home after a long day signing execution orders for my political rivals.

My wife, Monica, sitting at the kitchen table in the dark. I remember seeing a half empty bottle of wine and a legal portfolio on the table in front of her.

She was still sore about me holding her back from the Women’s Rights Movement. Would she ever learn her place?

I’ll never forget the way she said “I want a divorce.”

The words cut through my heart like a dagger of ice. After all we had been through? Two children and over 20 years together. And it was over like that.

Anton Rayne: Father, Son, President…‘ex-husband’?

How could she do this to me?

A sudden thought popped into my mind.

“Oh how cruel God is.”

“But also how humorous he is.”

I think back to what the Archpriest of Deyr said publically while we were campaigning for re-election.

“God bless the Raynes down in Anrica.”

10/10 game.
