Love SYFY, but do have a pet peeve
I love SYFY. Generally speaking I cannot get enough and I watch this channel over all others.
Like most of the others here,I do get tired of seeing the same ads over and over. And it is kinda annoying that you have to be a subscriber to a tv network to gain access. I would much rather pay. Small fee like Netflix and some of the others.
However, my pet peeve is that when I try to get caught up or try to start watching a new show, I can’t, because the first episode available is number 3 or 4. Example being Nightflyers and season 3 of Van Helsing. And taking up space from these great shows are 160 episodes of FaceOff, 40 episodes of Killjoys and 64 episodes of Paranormal Witness. Why can’t the the space be used equally between shows? I know I’m not the only one with this problem and complaint.
have to rewrite this entire thing because it apparently didn’t post my bad review the first time. the ads are crap. the same things over, and over, and over again every five minutes, and on top of that, i don’t even believe some of the advertisers are making money off of it, because it doesn’t open to the actual page often when you click “visit advertiser”. meaning that SYFY is the ONLY one benefitting from the ads in the first place, which isn’t cool at all! this app is pretty awful and they need to hire new developers or something. will likely be deleting SYFY as soon as i’m done with my show, considering this terrible app is the only place i can find it. it’s also crap that you have to have a paid cable sub only to watch 25 minutes of advertising anyways. if you already pay for the channel, you shouldn’t have to also watch a LOT of ads on the app. not to mention it makes you re-log in every time you close the app, which is annoying af. i’m all for paying for content, and advertising is beneficial to the creators, but it’s not even benefiting the companies the ads are about with website traffic. really poorly developed. if i could give it less than 1 star, i probably would.
Ads ads lengthy Lil ads!
Well since I love watching SyFy channel (won’t subscribe to cable/Dish etc without it), I downloaded this app. After it wouldn’t let me ‘pass’ without signing in, I started that process. Now, I already agreed to sign-in but when I did the app KNEW who my provider was BEFORE i did anything else (privacy invasion?) After displaying the Verizon logo, it showed me a list of providers including Verizon. Hmmm! Once I selected my provider, the app went ahead on its own to get my account info and sign me in🤔 This is very scary since we are in an age of hackers, digital thieves and such. Who’s to say that such a person couldn’t pretend to be a service provider, like SyFy channel and steal people’s information? This is the only reason for the 2 stars, otherwise I would give it 5 stars.
Other than that, I like SyFy!
Oh while I’m at it, what’s with all the commercial ads? Before even watching a show! It’s been bout a half hour since loading the app and selecting a show/movie. I haven’t yet seen the first scene!!! Subscribers already pay their providers for the channels. Why does the On Demand need to include ads? Just cut them out or shorten them!
