We had very expensive roller shades put in, all motorized. The motors we got were not compatible with Apple HomeKit at the time of install so we’ve had to use this app extensively. It’s fairly straightforward to use, but setup was a nightmare. Took multiple attempts before it connected with my hub unit. The big complaints we have are that 1) you don’t have great scheduling capabilities. I’d like to be able to schedule non-smart home compatible rollers. If the app can tell it to go up and down, why can’t it tell it to go up and down at set times? 2) it would be great if the screen that shows you all the roller shades together on one screen could allow you to open and close them with one tap. I want to be able to see all 6 of my motors in one screen and tap them to go up and down. As it is, you have to dive into a third layer to open and close each one and that extra layer is pointless.

Well, I was very frustrated at first with the new app because it was different and it’s not as user-friendly initially. Once I got the hang of it and understood how to use it. I’m loving it. The biggest reason I like this app more than the old app is because you can now raise and lower groups to all stop at the same time and be level instead of having to do that individually. That was a much needed update as before if you wanted everything to stop at the same level midway, you had to use the remote and whatever was programmed to that remote. Since we have multiple different groups, it was not cool that I had to raise and lower certain groups individually. The new app fixes that. I still wish there was a way to program groups to raise and lower at a certain point instead of having to go all the way open or all the way close. Maybe a future update will allow for that.

Overall a very useful app and (re)designed well. There are more possibilities for room setup and layout which is great. The configurable icons make one click to the room I’m in a snap. A few irritating things: if messages appear, can’t use the app until read. I find this new addition frustrating. Also, the percentage of battery remaining was prominent on each blind in the previous version and now it’s a small icon only unless you take an extra step and click on the “Advanced” tab.
