Tape Cassette 2 is an audio plugin that emulates the warmth, noise and character of old tape cassettes. Following up from our well received Tape Cassette 1, we’ve updated the plugin with a sleek interface and more changes under the hood too.

Along with a brand new selectable Type 1 Cassette Impulse Response (IR), we’ve improved the saturation algorithm, wow & flutter engine and implemented real sampled tape noise, all which results in a wonderfully warm and more accurate vintage sound. In addition to this you now have two VU meters to monitor your audio and built in oversampling.

You can easily add that classic sound to an entire track, or use directly on individual channels, for added movement, texture and warmth. Alternatively you can take it further than the material limitations of tape and push the parameters into a far more experimental soundscape, as a sound design tool.

⁃ Saturation (+/-24dB)
⁃ Low Pass Filter (5 to 22KHz)
⁃ Noise (-80 to 0 dB)
⁃ Wow (0 to 100%)
⁃ Flutter (0 to 100%)
- IR (On/Off)
- Auto-Gain (On/Off)
- Output (+/-24dB)

Tape Cassette 2 is both a stand-alone application as well as an AUv3 plugin, meaning it works within iOS and iPadOS hosts such as GarageBand.

What’s New

Version 1.1

New parameters: Auto-Gain and Output. Output allows you to reduce/boost the volume at the output of the plugin. This is great if you want to increase saturation without increasing volume. Auto-Gain automatically adjusts the output gain relative to the saturation so will keep the output volume at a more consistent volume.

Wonderful it just needs one thing

This is amazing it just needs an output gain control so you can saturate something really heavy and then bring the level back down to a reasonable level.

We've just released a Tape Cassette 2 update v1.1 with an Auto-Gain & Output Knob - hope you enjoy! :)

First one was good

Is this one even gooder? They’ll both stay in my select group of keepers!

Really cool

I think this is an easy to use app to add some color to your sounds. I mean, it sounds like an old tape. You can only use one instance of it at a time though in AUM.
