My wife bought this bird feeder camera for me so I could watch the birds up close. Set up took a bit because it took 3 times before I could get a connection from the camera to the app. The camera, so far, has done a great job. Love the solar charging panel. Still muddling through the settings and action buttons on the app. Speaking of the app, after creating a login account, I received a message the next day from my security advisor that my email address had been found on the dark web. Coincidence? Not sure.

This is my first Smart Bird Feeder and I’m looking forward to trying out the AI “smart bird identification” feature. The App has been easy to navigate and the camera linked immediately (I like the voice prompts that occur in both the App and the camera itself). I was surprised to find a long list of FAQ’s, help videos, and expanded instructions for a wide range of subjects related to the App, the smart cams, and the various types of bird feeders, houses, and other smart/camera devices that this App supports. I purchased a MicroSD card but it seems that you must purchase the cloud storage in order to access the AI “smart bird identification” feature, so I’m going to try both (the microSD card & the cloud storage) and compare/contrast the features and benefits of both. If this works as it appears it will, I think I will be purchasing more of these smart bird feeders and even a bird house or two.

This company should just advise the cloud service is REQUIRED to do anything. Nothing really worked until I added the cloud service, then it recorded and displayed the birds. The identification is a nice feature but not really accurate. The same blue jay has been referred to as at least 5 different types of birds. The controls are clumsy and not intuitive. It would be nice to filter out the recordings from the initial camera alert rather than after the fact. Hundreds of loitering videos intermixed with a few bird videos. I can filter for just the bird videos, but why? How about set it so it only captures videos of the birds. If not, at least be able to have the app default to a certain view. So when I look at the video it’s only showing the bird videos. Improvements would make this app even better. Also, about every three days the feeder loses connection. The help service recommended I reset the device. The device wouldn’t reset but somehow reconnected. Odd.
