Just TyIer ,

After hours of trying… I finally found the spot

Most people would think that using the nfc tag in a mountain bike helmet would be as simple as using your phone to pay at the grocery store. If you are using this app, you’d be wrong. You have to place you phone in the EXACT right spot in order for it to read the nfc tag. I was able to get my medical info uploaded, but good luck if anyone tries to read the tag to access it. This combination of helmet and app would actually probably be a safe spot to store your SSN, credit card info, or anything else you don’t want other people to ever find. (Sarcasm, for those that missed it).I’m not sure if it is the helmet manufacturers fault or the apps fault, but the experience is pathetic none the less.

Hi Just Tyler, I'm sorry to hear that you didn't have the best user experience in regards to using twICEme. If your understanding that the integrated hardware isn't directly below the functional symbol on your equipment, please get in contact with the brand you've purchased the equipment from. Furthermore, if you have any further questions to us - please reach out to info@twiceme.com. Be safe!

Spencerrz ,

So I got it to work

There’s a specific touch point on your phone where you need to be exactly on it in order to upload your iD. The little twICEme pamphlet/tag your equipment comes with, has a diagram of where the touch point is exactly.

I left a 1 star review initially because I could not for the life of me upload my ID. Until I re-examined the that tag, saw the diagram and placed my iPhone directly onto that point (on the iPhone right next to the camera) - as before I was just blindly placing my phone on the equipment like a grocery store card reader and it wasn’t working - even moving it around didn’t work. It has to be directly on that touch point

I do believe the developers can make this more clear in the app, I nearly threw out that tag with the diagram on it, gave up and left a bad review like everyone else here.

Dear Spencerrz,

Thank you very much for your feedback - we appreciate it very much. We are at the moment in a phase of further developing the app to be significantly more educational from an NFC usage perspective. We hope to launch it within a few weeks/months. Until then, be safe!

Placing your phone on symbol on the equipment doesn’t work

1. Download app for Apple
2. Use iPhone 13 Pro
3. Fill in the basic info for yourself , emergency contacts etc
4. It then asks me to scan the helmet” place your phone in the equipment to access the safety information” It opens and says Ready to scan. With other apps when you have ready to scan, it opens camera to scan something. This app does nothing. I am on wifi , Bluetooth , can access other things , can scan other things. No clue where to go from here. Just bought this POC helmet because of the safety feature such as this but it doesn’t work

Developer Response ,

Dear Johntester,
Sorry to hear that you had some challenges in the beginning. twICEme is based on Near Field Communication (NFC), so at step 4 you need to tap your iPhone's NFC antenna directly on top of the functional symbol on your POC helmets. Through induction, your smartphone will upload/access the info on your equipment.

Be safe!
