I have been following the guys ever since I was in high school, and I’m 25 now. When they first announced Watcher Entertainment I was so excited to see what the guys could come up with, and with every show that they produce they have never let me down. Steven, Ryan, and Shane are so clearly dedicated and invested in what they do, and the behind the scenes crew are killing it! Everyone’s passion for Watcher is evident in everything they do, and it’s so fun to see the shows they come up with.When they first announced WatcherTV I was hesitant, mainly because it was still only a website, so I felt like it wouldn’t be easy for someone to watch their content on their phone if they were out and about. But now that they have an app the experience is made so much better, especially since the app is available on so many platforms! It’s all organized nicely, and I’m so excited to see what they have coming for us next!

Im glad the guys were able to pull away from Buzzfeed and make a living off of doing what they love. While I understand people getting upset about the whole subscription debacle, I also think people need to realize that this is their livelihood. They are artists, and they deserve to be paid for what they create. These people constantly dish out funny, entertaining, and good-hearted content and they very obviously care for their viewers. I am glad that I can just go to this app and find incredible stuff and have my comfort shows playing all day while I go about doing whatever I do around the house. I do wish they were able to bring over their Buzzfeed Unsolved stuff to Watcher to be able to see, but I understand there is probably a bunch of legal stuff that they would need to go through in order for that to happen, and this is THEIR program, not Buzzfeed’s

Watcher Entertainment has some incredibly wonderful content both in the realm of paranormal and history content. Puppet history has some of the wildest and most fun improv’d lore I’ve ever heard, along with thoughtfully chosen guests and a 10 out of 10 banger of a song every episode (no I will not take criticism and neither should Shane). The app itself could use a little bit of work, but overall it’s done well and I really love that it will continue to play the content while my phone is locked. Little things like that and being able to download episodes for off-line view make it really great. Making the switch to a streaming service is hard for anyone, but they took the feedback from their initial backlash and turned it into something that I think really works. I greatly enjoy the podcast as well and being able to see it is really nice.

I was apprehensive at first when it was announced that they were switching, but I was pleasantly surprised. Being that Patreon was linked to my Apple account, I was already being charged right about the same as this subscription. Plus Patreon was sending me an exorbitant amount of push notifications which annoyed me to no end, until I eventually just turned them off. Much easier to navigate than the Patreon was, much more user friendly. Its a well designed app, and the user interface is much more attractive. You can navigate to seasons of your favorite show, explore the new shows, the new main attractions are in a larger bubble than the seasons, and front and center.The push notifications aren’t annoying. Its not something like, for example, anyone who has ever had Patreon will know you get at least 5-10 push notifications per day from that app, and you eventually condition yourself to ignore it. With the watcher app, you may get one per day, or just one or two per week. Just depends on the frequency of uploads and news, such as ticket presales. I find myself coming to the watcher app more than I had anticipated and much more than Patreon. 5 stars. You won me over.
