Great app for Scrabble!!!

I was never a great scrabble player, but this has revolutionized the way I play and it is so much fun learning new words. I love the app!!! my wife almost beat me with the word WOG and I wrote the developer because it wasn’t in my dictionary and she was using the same dictionary. He wrote back immediately saying to check that both of you have updated to the most recent app. Wog was not showing up on my app, but it was showing up in hers. And she almost beat me with it. But once we both updated to the newest version now WOG is not in the latest Collins 2024 dictionary. Thanks again for a terrific App!!!!

I must revise my poor review after the developer immediately contacted and educated me that various dictionaries can be chosen in the settings of the app. I haven’t used the new family agreed upon dictionary, but I certainly appreciate the developer’s attention and polite direction after my original negative review. Original review: I lost a lot of points because a word not accepted in this app was accepted in the Collins Dictionary which is the official dictionary of Scrabble tournaments

You're welcome :-)Original answer : Hello, by default the dictionary used in this app is the NASPA Word List 2019 (NASPA is the official word authority for tournament Scrabble in the USA and Canada). If you want to use the Collins Dictionary, there is no problem, this on is included in the app. You have to go on the settings tab, then change with the dictionary you want to use (the collins dictionary is available in few editions). If you have problem to change your dictionary, please contact us by email : gajodev@gmail.com Best regards.

THANKS! I changed rating. It was not obvious to select a list. Maybe it should say “Word List Selected”. Other suggestions: Can the cursor automatically move to typing area and keyboard pop-up once “Checker” tab is selected? If not then typing area lower on screen.Original posted review. What list is used to determine if a word is allowed? The description says it includes Collins (UK & international) and Tournament (US, Canada, Israel, Thailand)? There doesn’t appear to be differentiation in determining if a word is allowed. Both lists appear to be used to determine if a word is allowed. This makes no sense! I live in the US. Why would I want to use a word list that is not used in the US?.

Update 10 january : we update the dictionnary list, it's more visual now :) About the cursor when Checker tab is selected, i didn't find yet a good solution, but i'm on it. Update 4 january : thanks for suggestions, a new version would be available in january, i would try to integrate your request ;-)Original Answer : Hi, to select the dictionnary to use, please go in « settings » and select the one you want. I use this all the time when I am unsure of my spelling or if I think I have word (but it could be my imagination). I like that it gives you a brief definition too. Sometimes I will look up a word played by my opponent because I’m always looking to expand my vocabulary. This is a great tool. Thank you!
