I had some difficulty setting them up but not as much difficulty as older cams I’ve had in the past. They stay connected for the most part but every now and then I have to unplug and plug back in when they won’t connect. Bought a new WiFi mesh system, which has drastically improved my WiFi overall for all devices, including these cams. The videos are clear both night and day as long as you clear the spider webs out of the way! The motion sensor doesn’t accurately detect certain motions. For example, when selecting vehicle, people, animals, other for motion detection settings it detects my vehicle when it’s parked in the driveway and randomly tells me there’s a vehicle detected but it’s my parked vehicle! But when another vehicle pulls up for some reason, and is actually moving, it doesn’t detect that or notify me of it. Not sure why it tells me at random times there’s a vehicle detected when it’s a parked vehicle that’s not moving. Same with the people setting or animal setting. I tried just selecting people as I got tired of being told my vehicle is in the driveway. But every bug flying by set it off. I tried different combinations of vehicle vs people vs animal vs other and the cams act the same regardless. These options don’t appear to impact the motion detection. I have lots of videos shots of my vehicle parked in the driveway but most of the time it fails to capture moving vehicles! Would be nice if the motion detection worked better. Kind of useless overall for security. I see comments about the lack of sound and scanning but when you buy these cams it is advertised that these cams don’t have these features. I knew this when I purchased them. I know the firmware is updated in the cams from time to time. Maybe the next firmware update can improve the motion detection in the cams? It would be great if these cams detected moving vehicles instead of my parked vehicle, for example! Or if it’s an app issue, maybe issues like this can be fixed in an app update? Thank you!

I am absolutely sick and tired of having to uninstall and reinstall the app, I am fed up with having to press the reset button on the back of my NVR because the system jams up and just freaking stops working. When I try to set everything back up after a fresh reset, the app automatically jumps to searching the LAN network for devices online, and I didn’t even select it! Why is the app searching for something that I did not select? After I select the Zmodo Netwerk to connect my phone the next part of this process is supposed to be that it joins my local Netwerk. Instead it just jams up and doesn’t join my local Netwerk. Then when I go back and try to search my local area network again, The app goes back to trying to search my local area network when I haven’t selected for it to even perform a search! Will you people please fix this crap?! Why do you continually put us people through all of this frustration over your crappy app? I have already uninstalled and reinstalled your app three times today, it will still only identify four of my eight cameras online, and I cannot get my other four cameras to identify on the system. Either fix this garbage or I’m going to buy a different system and I will forever put on the Internet how much of a piece of junk your system is.

Customer service is useless- God forbid you sign up for a subscription, when you cancel your camera no longer saves free 10 second clips unless you upgrade a subscription ! 4 of my cameras worked perfectly until I subscribed for 6 months and cancelled. Now 4 of 8 no longer work! This nasty company disabled my cameras when I chose to cancel the storage plan. Software upgrades disabled another 1 of my cameras. Motion detection quit working on another of my cameras after I paid for storage. Lots of garbage with these cameras and customer service! Don't waste your hard earned money! There are much better cameras out! If you ever get ahold of customer service they will tell you your wifi signal is weak. This is a lie which means "They Don't Know!" 30 other electronics in our home work perfectly until, some are farther away than the ZMODO garbage! 1 camera is 15 feet from the router and failed after a software upgrade. They do NOT back their cameras and will NOT send replacements.NO, the cameras did NOT revert back. That is a lie. That is exactly what didn't happen and my cameras are now stuck in "no view" unless I resubscribe! They are no longer viewable or connected to wifi since I cancelled the subscription. You have rendered them useless. They worked perfectly fine until I subscribed. Poorly written coding!

I tried the free trial and my cameras haven’t worked since… 3 months. I have called and texted to try and get assistance with tech support on 3 separate occasions. They were very very disrespectful and no help at all. (as I was trying to explain the cameras weren’t recording correctly and I sent a pic of the wrong time stamp … he proceeded rudely, “it recorded right there why would you tell me it didn’t”. Completely dismissing what I was showing him. Acted as if I was lying to him. The free trial did worked for live data ONLY…. But the clips were so short it missed everything. For example: someone pulled into my driveway (captured) by the time they got out of the car, to my door, and knocked, the camera had stopped recording. So unless I was available at that exact moment to view live… I have no idea who was at my home. Which bothered me. I tried the free trial. Now I cannot see ANY recorded clips. They won’t open or play. And anything not live is time stamped 3-4 hours behind. My boyfriend also tried to talk to tech support since he works in the IT world and it was no help.
