Speak With Spirits

Can you solve The Medium’s chilling mystery?

The Medium

Speaking to the dead is Marianne’s extraordinary gift—and her terrible curse. In the gripping psychological horror game The Medium, you’ll guide the resourceful hero through an abandoned Cold War–era resort, using her psychic abilities to navigate two planes of existence: the real world and a creepy spirit realm inhabited by tortured souls and a relentless monster.

Conjure psychic blasts, snag useful objects, and examine clues—from old photos to unsettling toys—to unveil a story of terrible tragedies. Who is Sadness, the mysterious masked girl who befriends you? Why was the Niwa Workers’ Resort shut down? What’s up with the burned-out house in the woods hiding a sprawling underground bunker? Find the answers to unearth secrets about your past and discover who you truly are.

You’ll need to turn back time in the real world to unlock memories—and open doorways—in the spooky spirit realm.

What we love: The eerie atmosphere. Whether you’re roaming the crumbling resort or recoiling from walls made of flesh (gross!) in the surreal spirit realm, The Medium’s twin realities are brought to life with astonishing visual fidelity. A riveting soundtrack that includes the work of composer Akira Yamaoka (renowned for the Silent Hill series) fuels the suspense.

Quick tip: To solve the globe puzzle in the resort’s dayroom, focus on the spirit world and move the ringlike sections until they resemble a face—eyes on top, nose in the middle, mouth on bottom. Then rotate the globe in the real world to open a new path forward.
