Overall the app is great and connects well to my phone and Fitbit. The UI is clean and user friendly but I do have some issues. The “edit distance” feature does not, in fact change anything. And the reason for my noticing is the distance measurement is hit and miss. I have a measured route I run at 4,25 km. I’ve had ranges from 3,4km to 4,4km and it’s refusal to edit distance has really made it difficult to gauge my run time progress. I’ve turned to using UnderArmours Map My Run which I know to be more accurate

I love my Fitbit and have glued it back together many times! I love the sleep score because it tells me when I did not sleep well and I know when I did before I slept.Like having a snack my body likes, having taken my sleep medication or done enough exercise to sleep properly! A ninety score makes my day as that is about the best I get with my apnea machine!I also wear an Apple watch which is very accurate with what kind of sleep I have had. Being 83 years old it is important to know how my body is recovering when I sleep every night. The battery use is not as good as the Fitbit and needs to be charged regularly. The Apple Watch is still available in South Africa.
Used to be great, now it’s frustrating.

The FitBit app used to be really great and informative, it was easy to use and a great way to monitor health/fitness. However, not only do you have to invest quite a large amount of money in a FitBit device to use the app, the app now has information/features you can only access through an EXTRA payment. I might not mind this so much if it was possible to hide the “premium” options from the home screen — this is frustrating as it’s not difficult to accidentally tap on “premium” and get the frustrating option to pay for something over and over. Further, there have been a number of syncing issue where the app will not sync with a device despite constant refreshing. Because of these various issues, it seems likely that I’ll be moving to a different device & app.
Syncing issues and paying for premium features

Overall the app and the device is great but it is absolutely terrible that you always have to have some sort of internet connection for the device and app to connect/update. If you are in remote areas without signal it is so difficult and frustrating syncing the device and the app. This doesn’t make sense at all to me since the device connects via bluetooth, so why need the internet connection? Secondly I find it ridiculous that I bought a device and then still have to pay from premium features on the app, this feels like a rip off since I have already purchased a device. I use to really love Fitbit but I have grown to dislike the brand, syncing usability and payment scheme on the app.
General stability improvements and bug fixes.
Create, edit, and delete custom foods for more personalized and easier meal logging.
Quick log calories and macro estimates without having to add a specific food or meal name.
Naps now count toward your sleep duration on the sleep tiles in the Today tab.
