Disappointing
Zwaks
I find it disheartening that when I joined, a lot of the options were free. I used it knowing full well that the payment option meant creating more than 5 “instructions”. Only to find out about a few months ago that I was no longer getting notifications from the instructions I created. What was free when I joined became part of the Pro package, and I am put with an ultimatum to pay the annual fee or not get the app I had when I joined.
Complicated
AwesomeFanie
My first 2 worked okay but only required to turned on. They became the ‘set and forget’ type. I tried to make my own but there was nothing really useful to me. A couple of months later I used some more complex ones from the email suggestions and they worked fine until a service mysteriously had a problem and it stopped working, no indications at all. I tried some others the past 2 days but they are full of little nuances that are so complicated to figure out. Eg enter a date -> the app runs, check the log & it says wasn’t successful because your date wasn’t in xxx format or other ‘filters’ used that we are never privy to. Many apps have an obsession with wanting to have access to notifications area or else they won’t run! I don’t want to be constantly disturbed by these messages while working. I would prefer options to notify if there’s a problem and an app wide setting for when these messages get ‘delivered’ to me. I also have a big big concern that I can’t seem to clear my activity log or keep it rotating after x entries. I have an app with a years worth of logs that are mostly not useful. Finally, to write an entry to a local app seems to need to send my data on a journey from the voice entry, coverts to text, text sent to the ether, returns and opens IFTTT app, back to the ether, returns and opens a local app, does a bunch of processing, tells the ether the result, returns to display a notification and leaves everything ‘open’ in the background. VS open local app and make entry. I do think the email & IoT applications will be more useful as they anyway need to connect externally.
Very useful app
MasterPava
I have download this app when it first came out, many moons ago. I stopped using it for a while because it had limited support but I recently downloaded it again and I was surprised to see how much it has improved. The most useful aspect is being able to sync my Fitbit aria scale with Apple health since Fitbit doesn’t seem to want to play nice with Apple.
TTThanks for using IFTTT! This update includes:
+ Lots of bug fixes and performance improvements!
