Seamless Lock and Feel

The app has a minimalistic look and feel. That’s translated into its usability which has been a joy. It’s made me embrace using virtual paying methods a lot more even though they took less than 48 hours to deliver my physical card (that I’ve never had to use).

It’s good for alternative spending use and tap and go friendly. Recommend it if you need alternative to a traditional bank/ to separate and track spending.

The app is buggy

The wait time is too long for it to come back with an attempt countdown, which doesn’t make any sense, considering that the image is very clear, and the rectangular guide for scanning doesn’t show.

Once you close the app, as instructed by the support desk, you can’t pickup the conversation from where you left off, therefore, the user has to start all over again! I had to chat to 3 different agents for the same issue that still hasn’t been resolved.

My suggestion - your dev team needs to relook into the bug situation, and the UX/UI team needs to relook the chat situation and the inability to go back into the app when you’ve opened an image that you sent to an agent during a chat. The idea is great, but the execution needs work. With these pending issues, the referral program will not work best, and considering that the app is supposed to hold people’s money, the issues do not encourage trust.

If you want the worst service then download

Worst service EVER! and you have no shame, contacting me weeks later to say the query was resolved, worst customer experience, how do you have staff working only until 8pm yet your transactions etc is 24hrs, yesterday I topped up my Spot account with R200, I clicked once and it took R200 x 2 the one eventually came through the other is pending, just like last my last query it was in pending for 2 weeks, don’t provide a service if you can’t support it, this is putrid service, it’s a few days before pay day and you do this, and then trying to speak to an agent since after 5pm yesterday they all are useless AI would do a better job, still no response from spot but the chat says responding in 5mins? Since last night, you are what’s wrong with customer service in the South Africa

Please note that when a payment is stuck in a pending state it does not deduct the funds from your bank. With regards to our operating hours, like most banks we are do not provide a 24hour service.
