Great app but wish it could adjust to landscape view.
Love the Takealot app, I have it on my iPhone and iPad, and use it regularly. Great selection of stock items, and have never had a problem with orders/delivery/returns.
Only problem I have that is very annoying is that the app interface will not rotate from portrait to landscape when I adjust my device. I use my iPad with a separate keyboard fitting and which is much easier to search and work with in general, but because the app won’t rotate I can only use the touch-screen keyboard, in portrait mode. This means that half the screen-space potentially available on the iPad is consumed by the touch-screen keyboard, and what I would love is if I could have all that space available to view and scroll through the app, while using my external keyboard to type (which is the whole point of why I have the keyboard). It also means I don’t have to prop the iPad up with one hand and strain my neck to look down at the screen - much easier to look at the screen using a keyboard/stand/cover, of which most designs only work for landscape viewing.
The interface doesn’t rotate on my phone either but I generally only use my phone in portrait mode so its not an issue there. Would be great if the developers could fix this problem since it will make using the app on my iPad much more pleasant.
Always go the extra mile
I’ve been a Takelot customer since they started out and have watched them go from strength to strength. I can honestly say that they have rarely disappointed me, and when they have, they’ve made up for it. The only little glitches I’ve noticed, seem to happen over busy periods, like pre Christmas. There have been more than a couple of incidents when I’ve ordered in plenty of time for a product with a long wait time, only to be told in the 11th hour that they can no longer send me my order. This is likely a supplier issue, but being left in the dark until it’s too late (it’s usually a gift for someone) is not okay. It suggests a weak link in the chain which needs looking into. Possibly in the warehouse management area?
Nevertheless, Takealot is a fantastic company and I will always support them and I recognise that they strive to improve and please their customers.
Dishonest thieves!
I highly recommend that you rather go and support other online retailers like Raru instead! I ordered an item from Takealot and received the incorrect item of higher value. Being a honest human being, I returned the incorrect item and requested the correct item i ordered. Throughout this process they dragged their feet, as if i was the one in the wrong, even after they finally picked up the incorrect item. I then received an email informing me that the item i initially ordered was no longer in stock and that my account would be credited. I then went onto Takealot’s shop and not only did i find that the item was still in fact in stock, but they decided to hike up the price. So they lied to me! That is fraud! I then contacted them again with this information and confronted them. I told them how fraudulent they are and that i want the product i paid for in full BEFORE they hiked the price, or they should refund me to my bank account. Guess what option they chose? They didn’t choose to do the professional thing, they instead chose to refund me instead. I’ve been waiting for my refund for a whole week now. It was supposed to take 3 days max. So i believe i got purloined by Takealot. I will never purchase anything from them again and i will warn everyone i can against them on social media with photos and screenshots of my horrible experience with these thieves.
