Easy and awesome
I am controlling my pool and geyser with Tuya, and it really works well. Easy to set up and program. The switches probably paid for themselves in a month. What it needs for South Africa is to be able to set the app to “ping” the switches at selected intervals with the desired on/off status, say every 15mins, as with load shedding/power outages your wifi switched items stay in the mode they were in when the power switched off. So your geyser might not switch on or off when you wanted it to, until the next timer cycle sends a signal.
Conveniently control devices anywhere
Running my geyser (off the grid) and the heat pump off the inverter/solar.
Able to control both easily even remotely as it uses internet and not the home Wi-Fi only, so can switch on geyser on route from returning from a holiday before get home. I have run multiple timers on specific days depending on my water heating needs.
I see I have the ability to also schedule the devices to go on and off based on external factors like the temperature or the humidity levels so this is something I will play around with for winter I guess if temperatures drop below x degrees then might need to have the geyser assist with water heating.
Based on comment from qqwwrrty due to loadshedding in ZA I have put multiple “traps” to ensure the signal for on/off reaches the devices when I need as schedules are so inconsistent.
I also use the app to know when it’s load shedding as my geyser (grid only) will say offline.
Cons: Still find it a bit difficult to know if the device is switched on/off.
The power consumption meterage is Useless and so inaccurate. Pointless to use and was hoping it would help show me how much electricity the geyser and heat pump uses.

I’ve had this light for 2 years it’s perfect and I love the fact that I don’t have to get out of bed to switch off when it’s time for me to sleep love it 🥹
