I has been engaged in stock investment for more than ten years and has many years of investment experience in IG Markets. In March of last year, My long-term fund NUGT was suddenly liquidated for no reason. After appealing to the IG customer service, I chose to appeal to AFCA. The result of AFCA’s reply was that according to the user agreement signed by the client and IG, IG has the right to increase or to delete the financial products it provides, it only need to give users a written notice 30 days in advance. This is such a harm to long-term investors .

When $GME halted and opened they set it to only on phone orders when the price is too volatile to talk and tell them to close my trade. I had a big position on and when I was about to take profit they set it to only on call dealing. And in a minute the slippage took $1.3k from me. This is pure manipulation. Other brokers were available to deal online after the halts, non of them had only on call dealing. I called customer support only to tell me that it was slippage that took my money when it was them setting it to only on call dealing. I have yet to receive a response to my complaint. THEY HAVE FULL CONTROL WHEN YOU TRADE CFDs. Stay away from these market makers. They are not even CHESS sponsored.Update: I got the same response again. I said I was in the money then you guys switched to phone dealing only on your platform and I couldn’t take profit. When it was back to online dealing I was at a $1.3k loss. They didn’t even read this properly. LOUSY CUSTOMER SUPPORT. I also have proof of what happened and still you guys shake it off as slippage. I know what slippage is!

I just had the most absurd experience with IG Markets, and I wouldn’t recommend this platform to my worst enemy. They charged me a $46 commission to open and close a single CFD trade on a position with a $30 margin! How is that even remotely sustainable? That’s more than 150% of the trade size in fees alone!But that’s not even the worst part. I deposited $250, opened a gold position, and was up $30 (total equity $280). Then I bought one Nvidia share worth $30 (up $0.30), and suddenly I get a margin call out of nowhere. I immediately closed the Nvidia trade, my equity dropped to $220, and the margin call disappeared. Gold position still open I contacted support, and they said they would look into my account. Next thing I know, my gold trade is closed without my consent no warning, no margin call, nothing. Now I only have $216 left in my account. What kind of shady bs is that This isn’t just bad service it looks like a blatant violation of ASIC regulations. How can they justify closing positions without notification or proper risk management warnings? If this is how IG Markets operates, stay far away unless you want to watch your trades get randomly liquidated and your balance drained by outrageous fees

Please don’t sign up to this, it will take all your money and not let you withdraw any of you somehow manage to make money. I have a reasonable understanding of trading and at first you will have favourable trades. I initially doubled my capital investment so I transferred more funds for greater leverage. Almost straight away nearly every trade seemed to be hunted down to my stop and then would head back in the direction of of my profit limit!! This could have just been coincidence and maybe I’m suffering from paranoia... MAYBE!!!These types of trading platforms are more like casinos, programmed to keep more than they pay out so beware.I lost $5500 in 5 days to this app (including on the main web interface, which is seemingly very good)Again, my advice is stay away, stick to trading with a trusted, registered and reliable broker.
