When the server was taken down for RadarCast, I began searching for a suitable substitute. This ain’t it.Embarrassed Update: turns out, the problem was operator (me) error. I’m using the free version so far, and once I learned how to navigate around the ad land mines this turns out to be a pretty nifty app. I now find it even more useful than RadarCast. One of the things I liked about RadarCast was it’s simplicity. I make the same 600+ mile road trip back and forth regularly. I can travel on any day I please, so I go on days with better weather. The way I used RadarCast was I set pins all along the route and then I just clicked on them to get current and future weather. Clean and easy. However, whatever this new (to me) app lacks in that kind of simplicity it more than makes up for in its richness of information. And considering the wealth of additional information presented, it is remarkably simple at that. I just had to learn how to use it effectively.I especially appreciate the 10day charts and the dynamic timeline obtained by running ones finger across the charts. Doing so reveals hourly precipitation, temp, wind, and barometric pressure. Also, you can see the big picture clearly just by glancing at the charts.Another plus for my particular use of the app is that as I move through it from one pin (location along my path) to another, the data presented are the same as for the previous location. That is, I don’t have to scroll up or down or click on a tab to get to the same place on the page as I was for the previous location on the map.Bottom line, this app facilitates my road trip planning better than any other one I’ve used. My apologies to the developers for my premature bum rap and my kudos to them for doing such a good job. Thanks!

Bad business model

DON’T PAY FOR THIS! I had a paid subscription for NOAA Radar Pro, which I loved until it stopped functioning. The app store sent me to this. As soon as you download, before you see the app, it immediately hounds you to pay and offers a “discount” if you do it immediately. Thinking this was the same as my old app, I paid $9.99 for a year. Once I opened it, I found out that it’s not even close. The user interface is clunky and confusing. The weather map is very imprecise. The “forecast” provides less information than Alexa does. The supposed storm tracking tells you there are storms “somewhere in the world”, but you can’t click an icon and see them. So, absolutely useless for tracking developing storms and hurricanes. No options as to what you want alerts for. It’s all or nothing. I tried their other “Free Radar Live” app, which is really much nicer and includes useful information like dew points and “feels like” temperatures with a much nicer interface and more customizable options. Of course, I’d have to pay ANOTHER subscription fee to keep premium features. This developer is ripping people off. Why not do as in the past and make a decent free and a great premium app that does everything? Also, the widget is ugly and doesn’t seem to update. DON’T BUY THIS APP! If you’re going to buy one from this developer, get the much nicer one. If you want free with ads, look somewhere else completely.

Very disappointed with subscription
aconibel
This app used to be amazingly accurate. Now, not so much -- when it's warm and sunny outside, it says it's overcast and 50 degrees in my location, etc. To make matters worse, it continuously stops recognizing my paid subscription status with every update. This time, it won't even restore my purchase AND they're showing ads when I paid for a full year without ads back in January. When I looked at the ad-free options, my subscription no longer covered an ad-free experience. So I opted to "go premium" but it still wouldn't take away the ads until my subscription renews in January. B.S.! I have done all the reporting bugs and dealing with payment issues I can handle with this app. I don't have these issues with other apps that I pay for, and when I pay for an app, I expect to get what I pay for. The price on this keeps going up while the quality of the app's function continues to decline. Not worth it, in my opinion.

Thank you for contacting us! We sincerely apologise for the inconvenience. Fortunately, we have released an updated version which should solve the issue of the subscription not being recognised. Please update in the App Store to the newest version. If the issue persists, please contact us at support@impalastudios.com so that we can assist you further! We are sorry to hear that our app failed to predict the weather correctly. For our weather report, we are relying on an external source that sends us their data. Sometimes this data is incorrect, which is something we can’t do anything about. Sometimes things go wrong in retrieving the data, which is where our weather service comes into play. This is a large system that handles the weather retrieval and updates of multiple apps. If you could send us the details of your bad forecast, then we are going to check your weather problem with our weather service and see if we can find and solve it!
WARNING: ORA RIP OFF

Do NOT press “Skip” when new app opens - it automatically enrolls you in the “Free Trial” and there is NO WAY TO CANCEL in the app. Free trial does not show up in iPhone “Subscriptions”. I did the update of the old app and thought I’d at least look it over despite the several comments about the old version costing way too much and charging for free NOAA info that other apps gave for less or for free. I thought they might be under new ownership that wasn’t as greedy. The splash page took a long time to load. After it did, the first page offered a tour of new features and a “Skip” tour at the bottom. I pressed “Skip” and the next thing I know it’s telling me I’ve accepted the free trial. NOT!!! Went everywhere I could trying to find a Cancel Free Trial button but there’s nothing anywhere in the app for that. Yet it doesn’t show up in Apple Subscriptions to cancel. Can’t believe Apple allows this shabby kind of trick rip-off. You can’t even contact Apple about it. Where? How? Considering a formal FCC complaint.

Hi, and thank you for taking the time to write this. We completely understand the worry, and we want to clear it up right away. You have not been charged and you have not started a paid subscription. With the new app, we are giving you three months of full access for free, as a thank you for being a long-time user. That is why nothing appears under your iPhone Subscriptions: there is no payment method involved and nothing will auto-renew. When the 90 days are over, the app simply continues as a free experience. No charge will ever happen without you actively choosing to subscribe and confirming it through Apple. If anything about the welcome screens felt unclear, that is on us to fix, and your feedback helps us make it clearer for everyone. If you would like to talk it through with the team, we are always happy to help at support@impalastudios.com.
Wildfire season is here. Ora can now show you where the fires are.
Track wildfires: See active fires and their perimeters across the US and Canada. Tap any fire for containment, cause, and start date, then explore how it grew from ignition. Add wind and rain to see the weather around it.
See the wind: Wind arrows now appear across all charts and forecasts, so you can see wind direction at a glance.
Clearer map layers: Every layer now shows the regions it covers, so you know what you're seeing before you turn it on.
