I’ve used HotStock in the past, specifically when I was trying to get an RTX 30xx series graphics card, but never had any luck actually getting anything. Recently decided to give it another try because I wanted the physical preorder on the special edition of Metroid Ravenous, but didn’t get in before all the fans and scalpers already cleared out the initial preorder window. I saw that stock was coming in and out from pretty much every retailer that carries it, so I tried the manual process again. While I could sometimes put something in my cart, I could never make it all the way through checkout. I saw several comments in the app of people successfully preordering with auto buy set up. I was pretty skeptical and just continued suffering to try and get a preorder. I honestly thought the comments might just be bots. After about 2 days of honest effort, I decided to just give auto buy a try out of frustration. Had a ton of failed attempts over 24 hours still thinking this might not be legit… but just today I got a confirmation email from Target. It’s not a guarantee - any retailer could find out they don’t have enough stock to fulfill these late preorders and I might not get it come release day, but HotStock does actually do what it says it does and the auto buy feature did make my purchase for me. I refuse to buy from a scalper and so should you! This just kind of levels the playing ground for people late to preordering.

I was after a couple of items that kept selling out fast, so I got this app to help. The notifications didn’t give me enough time still to get either of them after a few days, so I subscribed to their AutoBuy feature, which also gives you priority in notifications. The AutoBuy feature successfully got me one item on the first day, and the notifications alerted me in time to get the other on a site not supported by AutoBuy after a couple weeks. I will say though that AutoBuy kept on getting stuck on BestBuy, where the web page would open and it would click the button to buy, but if the popup window said there was no stock, AutoBuy seemed to not know what to do and would just get stuck there, sometimes for hours until I closed the window by hand. Not sure if that window being open prevented AutoBuy from attempting to make any other purchases, but I would guess so since the web pages look like they have to open in that window for it to try, and it didn’t look like it could have more than one window open at a time. It also looked like the authentication wouldn’t automatically go through on BestBuy either despite me setting up multifactor authentication through AutoBuy. I’d still use it again though to help with anything selling out fast; I just might skip AutoBuy with BestBuy until they fix those issues

I’ve only been in this app religiously for a day trying to shop for a camera for my wife’s birthday present, but I’ve been on and off about on trying to get one cuz there were so many people wanting it and such a low supply, but today I said “let me really try for the next 24 hours” luckily canon has been dropping like crazy the past 24 hours, but a tip that helped me and might help someone out there, is that I realized last minute if you can somehow get to the check out(or by failing to buy because the stock went to 0 again, because you clicked the notification too late) and it says “0 left in stock” chill at the check out and wait for the next notification to appear, and it did appear within the next 2-4 minutes, and I believe the page refreshed automatically for me or I had to refresh it I forgot cuz I was stressed but I got through quick, pressed pay with Apple Pay made sure my info was all correct before all of this so it just scanned my face, mind you, this all happened within 10-20 seconds of that notification getting sent, but thank God, I got lucky with the notification and it went through Deleting this app now, but this app has been so helpful! Definitely going to use this again once there is something else we want that is low in supply, but hopefully this helps someone out there ✌

Ever since the new consoles released, I was really wanting the Series X. I would check on the websites every so often to see if I was lucky enough to see a random drop. Of course, I didn’t have any luck. One day, I was talking to a coworker about how I wanted one and how I don’t think I’ll get it until they don’t go out of stock in one minute. He told me, “well I have the perfect solution for you!” That day, he made me download HotStock. At first I was a little skeptical because it was a free app. I didn’t get the paid version of the app (which I believe gives you updates on stock a bit quicker) so I didn’t expect to snag one. On July 1, I got about 7 notifications 5 minutes apart about Walmart releasing the Xbox. The first restock, I wasn’t on my phone. The second one, I wasn’t quick enough to put in all my information. Just like what everyone says, the third time is the charm. After the third notification, I was able to buy it! I bought it while on FaceTime with a friend and he could just tell how excited I was! Not only that, Walmart was taking forever to ship the Xbox. I almost lost faith about actually getting it because I thought they were going to cancel it and ship it to someone else. However, this app allows comments on whatever product you want. I would talk to the people who ordered from Walmart. Some of theirs had shipped, others had not. Because of all theses peoples comments, we as users of the app, found faith that we were going to eventually get the product! I could not recommend this app any less! It’s amazing!
