Folder Lock 17+

Wonderful app to store information securely on your phone, worked really well for the last 4 to 5 years. I haven’t had any issues with it. This most recent update, however, has been a big problem, have lost a bunch of notes with all important information created over the last two or three months - I usually back up my stuff every few months, however, this update has erased or deleted these notes and I can’t find them anymore. Hopefully there will be some resolution at this soon. Have complained 3 to 4 times already…

This app works as advertised. The update didn’t add much in terms of user experience. After the major update many users lost access to their data for about a week. When I was able to access my pictures again all the images and videos from the old version had to be “migrated”, which I assume was necessary for the app to function. Unfortunately, this scrambled all the images in my albums by failing to preserve their metadata, especially the date. Re-ordering them will be a major headache. The point being, the devs are a little reckless. I’m worried this could be a bigger issue in the future. EDIT: I ended up making an account for folder lock 10 to use the sync feature. This once again caused my images to be scrambled through the migration process. This is Incredibly frustrating, as I have spent hours unscrambling them at this point. Furthermore, there seems to be no way to get data to sync across devices, at least on the free version (even though it’s supposedly possible). The WiFi transfer feature is incredibly slow and tedious to use. The stability of the app has become even worse as well. Unfortunately, this is still the best app for price and ease of use. Other apps charge ridiculous subscriptions for basic functionality, or disorganize your data when uploading. So I’ll have to put up with it for now.

I loved Folder Lock, until the update. Some of my photos simply are not there. In addition, the photos are not in the order I had spent a lot of time organizing. The videos appear to be there, but again not in the order I had spent time organizing. Looking for alternative app unless Folder Lock can resolve these issues. On Sept 7, 2024, I received an email from “Michelle” advising an update would becoming out in 2-3 days that would correct the issues. It is now September 28th with no update. Please advise. Thank you.
UPDATE: As of October 9, 2024, there is still no update to resolve the situation. As stated above, I was advised an update would be provided in 2-3 days. Still waiting. They advise not to uninstall, but not sure how much longer I can trust an update is coming.
