DuckDuckGo Private Browser 17+

I noticed when you type DuckDuckgo in the app search that Google still pops up before it. The app you want always pops
Up on top and then other apps below and even then they go in alphabetical order. Yet google it right there on top. I have used DuclDuckGo for a while off and on. I have noticed a lot less spam. Not only emails but adds. The spam and adds I do get are of course things I see on google. Google has gotten bad about selling our info and using our info for illegal things. I have had enough and decided to stop using Google altogether. If an app or website I go to requires Google I will not use it. We have a choice and sooner or later these apps will be forced to fallow suit. I work for a company that has very strict internet access and very secure firewalls. Yet when I use DuckDuckGo I can access some of those website I can not with Google because of how secure it is. Not all websites because some of the URL’s are blocked with our firewall. I bet if they used DuckDuckGo it would change. So far I am impressed and will continue to use it instead of Google and the other’s. I will update this review when I learn more.

I would consider myself someone who really tries to find the best search engine that is clean, consistent, and has great user protection. I have tried a lot of search engines from Chrome, Brave, Edge, Safari; just to name a few. All of these platforms are not as user friendly as Duck Duck Go in my opinion and don’t make my data privacy and user safety as transparent and easy to use as Duck Duck Go. Having recently jumped on this platform after trying all the others, I can confidently say that I have uninstalled all the other search engines and have solely adopted Duck Duck Go as my main search engine. Beyond just user safety, I am a user that has pretty significant ADHD, meaning that cleaner, direct platforms when it comes to user navigation help me tremendously in staying to task and organizing bookmarks as I progress through the day. Overall, I really have found Duck Duck Go to be a phenomenal search engine in the first month that I have began using it and I honestly won’t go back.

Additional Note: I am an IPad User and this review is based on my experience using the IPad app.

I really do. I’ve been using it for several months now. Unfortunately I am just about at my wits end. Every single solitary page I ever load ever ever ever refreshes after 30 to 60 seconds. Maybe I could handle a refresh after one or two seconds but I will be halfway through logging into something or making a post and Bam it refreshes me and I have to start over. If I were just casually reading different websites maybe it wouldn’t be a big deal but I can’t tell you how many hundreds of forms I’ve had to fill out at least two and sometimes three or four times. Just load the stupid page! I have about learned that I have to wait a good while after every page I load to make sure that it’s not going to refresh me. I get that maybe you’re blocking cookies are trackers and maybe that’s why but it’s extremely annoying to have to start over whatever I’m doing EVERY SINGLE TIME.

Also “feature” or not I really really really hate that “new tab” button. I accidentally hit it multiple times a day. I also don’t like not having a good history back button. Sometimes I lose a page and then I can never go back to where I was and I have to start my searches all over again.
