When I originally downloaded the app it worked well. Then out of the blue, I couldn’t open it and all I had was a blue screen with the Docket logo. I called tech support and while they were extremely helpful, they were unable to solve the problem. They asked me to delete the app (which of course deleted the data) and we spent time (re) uploading and deleting multiple times to no avail. Have powered down the phone and tried the same thing for the better part of 2 days now and every time the blue screen and logo just ‘sits’ there. Sad that this no longer serves a purpose for me! Super disappointed as it was very useful (when it worked).Thank you for fixing the bug!
Good idea, such a bad implementation
Big Larry Says
I've been a software designer, developer and manager for more than three decades and I have rarely seen a technology concept that was such a good idea so poorly designed, built and tested. Seems like the marketing people, obviously new graduates from the Imagineering school at Disney, felt that animated squirrels were more important than useful error screens and functional test scripts. Experience with the app from my extended pool of Utah Friends and Family ranged from poor to exasperating with the median results being the ability to create an account, have the app find immunization records, report the same and universally never display them. Mostly showing a pretty blue page with nothing on it except "Immunization Records updated on" xxxx Date. And that's all. No pdf, no display, nada. Through probably 60 trials over the course of fifteen days of various combinations and permutations of app deletion, account deletion and anything else we could think of, that's all we got. Bupkus. We suspect the money folks allotted 80 percent of the dollars to squirrel design, fifteen percent to coding and five percent to quality assurance. Well, ya got what you paid for. Too bad, cuz you could have built a helpful and profitable product instead of an infinite rewrite morass. Sigh.
Developer Response
Hi there - The connection with the Utah immunization registry can be a little sluggish sometimes. Try tapping the refresh icon on the Immunization Records screen and let us know if that doesn't do the trick. Feel free to update your review with the results. Send us your portfolio too! - Team Docket
Great idea but very buggy if you have multiple family members
bitlifter
I love the concept of docket but the actual execution of this app is poor. If you have multiple family members as I do, e.g. two adults and two children, the app refuses to switch profiles. If I add child A and click on that child, everything shows up. After adding child B and clicking on child B, I can no longer view child A. This makes it unusable for families, thus the 2 star rating. For some reason Adults are handled differently and after some multiple clicking back and forth, I can switch from my wife’s profile back to my own but it’s quite buggy which makes it stressful to use in a real world scenario. For any other state officials considering this app, I suggest they require a User Interface update before committing any resources to them. Also one other bug which is quite a bit more serious is that my wife’s covid inoculation records were incorrect. At first it showed her only having one shot instead of the two she had gotten, the last of which was 4 months ago. As of a couple of days ago, her record was ‘updated’ and it’s showing she has had 3 shots which is also wrong. If this is truly going to be a ‘vaccine passport’ it needs to be a lot more accurate. However, I won’t blame Docket on this bug as it’s most likely the State of Utah providing the wrong data to Docket but there needs to be better verification and accountability between the two organizations if this app is going to be used as a type of legal document providing proof of vaccination. For the Docket Dev team, I’m running iOS 14.8 (saw issue on 14.7 as well) on an iPhone X11 Pro Max with a dynamic text size of 4 notches from the left in the text settings with ‘bold enabled’ . Hope that helps and I really want to see this app succeed thus all the detailed feedback. Good luck Docket!
App works well after syncing
St Paul Hope
The app was fairly easy for me to figure out and provided a clear path to fix the situation when my records weren’t found. I am guessing many people will need to use that method to reach out to their state health department and get all records synced up to their phone number and email so they can be found on Docket. For me this took a couple of weeks, then I received an email telling me to log in to Docket again. Developers: when I went back in and performed my search, it just stayed on the same search screen each time rather than taking me to actually see that records had been found. I assume this is on your backlog to fix. It meant that I kept re-running the search with no indication it had completed or found results. Eventually I tried backing out of the search screen and found my records.
Minor improvements.
