The whole process was pretty straightforward and easy to do. I was a little speculative after reading some negative reviews, but overall my experience was very good. Mailing the books was super easy and they even give clear instructions for every step. The only issue I had was that it took about an extra few days than expected for them to complete reviewing my books and the status was still “in transit” despite fedex saying it was delivered. I was planning on emailing soon, but everything worked out, and the status went from in transit straight to completed. Better communication on what the status of the package is would be nice, but overall it’s not a huge issue, as the timeline wasn’t something I was super worried about. I sent in what i had, and they paid me what they said they would.

Not worth it
OliviaJ228592
I recently sold two very new and recent volumes to BooksRun. I received an email today saying that one of my textbooks had water damage. They sent pictures as proof. The damage must have occurred during transit because I inspected the books prior to sending them. (I recommend taking your own pictures to avoid this happening.) They offer to send the textbook back (for $8.00 in shopping costs). So my options are: receive $5.00 for my $50 textbook, or pay them $8.00 to get it back. Either way, I was pretty disappointed that books in such perfect condition could lose so much value in just a semesters worth of time. I didn’t see any other sites with better options, so I decided to sell the books even though I am only getting a very small percentage back. I’m curious to know how much these textbooks will get resold for. I can understand that companies need a profit margin, but unfortunately this just isn’t worth it. I was better off trying to sell them on Facebook Market Place or on the college platform to incoming students. Needless to say that I will not be using this platform again, nor recommending it to my students.

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. Taking advantage of college students.
e199391
I’ve not used BooksRun to sell my textbooks however I never will because they proved to me that the only priority they have is making money off of college students. I previously rented a textbook from them for $15 and they never gave me a warning of when the book was due, they just charged my account to extend the rental another two weeks. Never gave a warning. Every other rental company I’ve ever used gives a warning of when it’s time to return the books. Then, again without warning, they charged me an additional $34 to purchase the textbook since I had not returned it even though once again, they never gave me any warning of any sort. I advise anyone thinking about using this company to change their mind and use Chegg or another company that is not so desperate and scammy. I also want to add that I have emailed them multiple times with no response and have sat on customer service multiple times for over and hour to try and get someone to help me and no response. Terrible customer service, terrible company. Do not support a company like this.

Overall Good Experience Until Now
JNielsen11
I have sold my textbooks with BooksRun before and have had a pretty good experience with them until now. I sent them most of my husbands electrical books he used for school and he had paid lots of money for them. When they got all the books they said they couldn’t accept one because it had “different binding”. How was I supposed to know that they wanted the book with specific binging?! They just have you scan the ISBN number and they will give you a quote based on the books condition and never tell you what the binding needs to be. And my only options were to accept the quote for that book for $0 (I was originally quoted $20 for the book) or have it shipped back to me and I have to pay $9 in shipping for that! I was very frustrated with this because the book was in perfect condition and I did not want to pay $9 for shipping to get it back.
