This app tackles a LOT of things and does most of them exceptionally well. This is not just a “pick a focus point” app but rather that is just a starting point. It takes a little time to work through all the goodies that are included and how to optimize their usage but I’m quite impressed with the depth and breadth of features. All i actually needed was a “pick a focus point” app—and this app doors that very well—but I’m happy it includes SO many additional features. Well worth the subscription price. I have to mention that I’m having a small problem with the app showing that I have the Basic version even though I’m subscribed but upon reaching out to the developer and receiving an immediate reply, it was confirmed that this is an inconsequential bug that the developer stated would be addressed. Kudos for such immediate and superb customer consideration!!

Make this app a photo extension so you can add the blurt effects right inside the photos app. That would help for the older phones that don’t have the dual cameras etc. to get that blur effect right inside the photos app. I have iPhone SE and I use this app all the time for portrait mode blur. With a little more fine tuning of the auto photo blur , this app would be perfect. Sometimes the app doesn’t separate the person from the background too great. I know it works off of software only. But the google pixel does this with one camera also. Thanks. I hope I’m not asking for too much. I just really like the app and want to see it better.

I downloaded this app on my iPad to turn some photos into portraits, and right off the bat I gave it all permissions and nothing worked. It wouldn’t even load a photo so I couldn’t even edit anything. The app crashed multiple times, so I tried downloading it on my phone and trying again on there. It did not work on my phone either. After giving up on it, both devices began acting strangely. Certain apps would get stuck on their opening screens or not work properly. I closed the app and tried again, but that didn’t work. I restarted my phone, but that didn’t work. I deleted the Phocus app and everything went back to normal. I thought it might have been some strange thing on my phone, but the same thing just happened on my iPad as well, except this time it eventually led to the device crashing. I deleted the Phocus app and so far everything seems back to normal. I’m using an iPhone 12 and the iPad Air (4th gen) both updated to the latest iOS version.

Contacted support, they could not help me (I could not find anything on the app or in the App Store to “restore the purchase”, which made no sense to begin with-I’d just purchased it), I deleted and reinstalled the app (and restored the purchase after this), restarted the phone several times, and swore several times loudly. No luck. Still waiting for someone to respond to me (sent screenshots to support, no response after that).

This update brings a major upgrade to relighting, depth processing, and scene understanding across the app. 3D Relight for All Photos -3D relighting is no longer limited to photos with native camera depth data. -You can now use 3D relight on all photos thanks to the new model-based depth pipeline. Brand New 2D Relight System -Added 2D relight filters for the first time. -Introduced both Bulb and Focus Light lighting types in 2D. -Improved Focus Light behavior so it works much more reliably and naturally. -Better Depth Model Upgraded the app’s depth estimation model significantly. -Depth-based editing is now much more accurate in both the editor and the camera. -This improves relight quality, masking, depth-aware filters, and other scene-dependent effects. New Foreground Masking -Added a new Foreground Mask for object segmentation. -Unlike portrait masking, it is designed for broader foreground object selection. -The previous foreground workflow was improved and evolved into the new Hybrid mode. Improved 3D Scene Quality - 3D rendering has been improved significantly. - The 3D scene now looks cleaner, more stable, and more usable during relight editing. - Multiple light geometry issues were fixed, resulting in more accurate light placement and behavior. Overall Relight Improvements -Bulb lighting was added as a new lighting option. -Focus lighting was refined substantially. -Many issues related to light direction, range, targeting, and scene interaction were resolved.
