I previously had an August lock, which I loved, until my building installed Carson and switched out our locks. I previously had my door auto-unlock when I arrived back home via Bluetooth (like when you get into your car). No such feature exists in Carson. Now it the app always has updates to download when I’m trying to get inside, especially frustrating trying to get in from the parking garage with little service, and the app is frozen until updates are finished. No Apple Watch app, no automation options, and a slow experience. Also no option to forward callbox calls to a phone number, it’s all app based which is easy to miss.

You have a far higher chance of surviving omaha beach as a first wave, 15 year-old private than getting this unusable, rage inducing, braindead app to open the door to your own apartment. I would rather spend my night in a lawnchair on the freeway than stading in front of my door with groceries locked out of my own apartment because the carson app is too moronic to let me in. If I see the yellow light blink on my door one more time I will consider taking the quick way down to the bottom floor by jumping out of the 5th story window. If your apartment complex uses the carson app I would suggest finding a different apartment or consider the homeless life as it will be far less aggrivating than dealing with this ineffectual and good for nothing excuse of an app. Im actually considering self-harm after my most recent experience being locked out of my apartment. Save your mental health and future life as an alcholic by refraining from download this app.

I recently moved to a building that has Carson virtual doorman. I looked it up because I was used to having traditional doormen in the building. I saw how badly it was reviewed and was really worried I signed a lease with this service, as I get lots of packages and need someone to take in the packages when Im away. I've been getting lots of packages and I haven't had one missed because of Carson. I would say it's very reliable and I am grateful for Carson. My building also provided a keycode and a physical key for back up- which I saw some reviewers say they are locked out of their building because of Carson, but I don't see that happening to me with these back ups. As for now I'm really happy with this service and app

Landlords and building owners beware. This app causes so many issues for tenants and is faulty. The idea sounds great, to have all digital keys/easy access, but the execution and user experience is horrendous. It does not work and causes major issues for tenants and building managers. My app has not allowed access to my unit in months. One day the digital key to my unit said “digital key not available”. Then, I lost my digital key to the gym. I have a temporary fob from my building manager to gain access to unit for now, however, I still can’t get into the gym. I pay an extra fee for the gym, but do not have access. Luke at Carson has been nothing but unprofessional. He just repeats himself and has found no resolution. He tells me to delete my app - but it doesn’t work. Now he just ignores emails from me and the building manager asking for support. Carson is a scam.
