Have been overall satisfied with the evac. Does the same job as competitive bots i have used but mop is very cool and convenient in one bot. Sometimes a little finicky when moving the charger to another floor. Doesn’t seem to recognize the saved map, but not a big deal as it maps out new or adjusts when finally recognizing saved map. Small dust bin but hasn’t presented a problem, easy to clean. Smart design with cleaning tool storage on the bot. Wish the charger had a mount for the mopping plate when not in use. I wet the mop pad as the water spray is light even on the highest setting which seems to help the mopping quality but it is still very streaky. More water spray is needed. Larger water cartridge would be ideal. I do wish it had a sensor to stop the vac and alert you to when the water is depleted so you can refill or choose to continue. Right now it keeps going so if you’re doing an entire floor you may not know where it ran out. Tracking that on the map would be cool. App is good, room maps are great. Run the vac without mop for initial mapping run as rugs and carpets drag the mop plate. Ability to customize room features is key to avoid rugs and carpets when mopping plate is installed. We put chairs on top of counters so job is unobstructed but the vac does a good job of recognizing obstacles and avoiding, like my dog. Would recommend the evovac and will most likely upgrade when new features improve the bot.
Excellent vac and mopper
CKnoxville
We have a complicated octagon shaped house. Previous robots we had struggled to find their way around and required a lot of prep like putting chairs on tables. We tried a robot mopper before and it just dragged a disposable pad around and barely accomplished anything. This one is fantastic. We have an old dog with bladder issues so we have to mop on almost a daily basis. All of our floors are hard surfaces. The mopper attachment it came with also just dragged around a pad, but we bought the “pro” attachment that runs the pad back and forth and it does a fairly good job. So we really only have to do a “real” mop to sanitize every couple of weeks. Truly a time saver pad back and forth and does a much better job. This is also an older model and was the least expensive (and best) robot we have ever bought, just for the vacuuming alone. Our floors get so dirty so fast that we need to replace the pads 2-3 times each mopping, so I honestly don’t see the point of having a “station” for it to clean its mops. Not worth the extra $600 in my view. Speaking of pads, the pro model says you should use the disposable pads, but as others have noted the regular pads work and are reusable—put them in the laundry. I have tried both and the disposable ones seem to hold less dirt. So I recommend buying a supply of regular pads to keep on hand.
App concerns
Bulunair
This is a great product! If only the app would work as it should. When I finally get a room divided correctly it creates another problem with another room. Mapping shouldn’t be this difficult. Really hope that an update is coming to correct this problem. This app is difficult to use with a lot of quirks especially without some kind of tutorial to refer to. Hope this is a concern for ecovacs? If not it should be! There’s no consistency with this app. Haven’t had it run whole house cleaning the same way ever. So I’ve reverted to cleaning one or two rooms at a time cause whole house cleaning just doesn't get the job done. Took over 12 hours to get it to do a 1800sq ft house. Have to babysit it to make sure it does what its supposed to. Shouldn’t have to do that with how much this costs. If not then someone should let your customers know theres a fix coming their way. I’ve read a little about ecovacs issues and it seems the problems I’m talking about have been around for a while. So I’m not sure if what I’m telling you is coming as any surprise. Just wish that with this new model that ecovacs wants or try’s to get this corrected. Can’t really understand why they wouldn’t want to. Need to spend a day with support to get some of these bugs straightened out. Every thing I’m bringing up is me trying to be constructive which is what you ask when you ask for feedback.
Proof of concept
Surrneder that booty
We have purchased our Deebot with some skepticism. But so far are pleasantly surprised. Setting expectations is key. We have the N8+. So it isn’t the most powerful vacuum in the line up. And it isn’t going to replace mopping our floors anytime soon. What it does do is clean up the daily debris one tracks in here and there while you are working or watching the game. We vacuumed our floors prior to running our Deebot and it still pulled a slight amount of dirt/dust from the floors. I am sure the other models with almost double the suction power will do an adequate job to satisfy most. The mopping feature on this models even at the most saturating mode only picks up a small film on the top of the surfaces. So it won’t replace your mop. But what it does well is disinfects your floors. With the right solution of your favorite cleaner it puts down and wipes the surface with disinfectant and removes some film or reside from the floor. The house smells clean and as one walks barefoot across the floors they feel clean. I will use this often and hope to upgrade to a more powerful unit with rotating mop heads in the future. For now it has proved the concept of assisting in keeping the floors cleaner and more sanitary. Note we do not have a pet. So pet owners may need to jump into the most powerful models to prove the worth for their daily cleaning needs. But for us the Deebot is a great addition to keeping things just a little more tidy without any additional work. Hope it helps!
