Hello. This is good, but its not just there yet. I understand that the other parts of pixilart on the website are not yet done being added to the app, so I have no taken off any stars for those. However, it seems that the search typing does not work on my iPad. I use a keyboard connected to my iPad and it yielded no results, nor did using the on-screen keyboard. Also, by ‘no results’, I mean that when I typed, no letters showed up in the bar as being typed whatsoever. However, there are definitely some things that are quite big improvements from the website, such as the way it saves the drawings so one can work on them at any time and have multiple in the process of being made, as well as the fact that the strange reload bug the site has is not present on the app. By the way, the reload thing I am referring to is when the site will randomly reload without any reason/user input and you end up losing all of the work you had done unless you had already uploaded the image to be able to edit it later on. This save feature is better because it also makes the need to upload so you can edit it later on not ever needed to be done. One final thing is that when pressing the back arrow to get to the home page, its confusing where you are, and you click back and still don’t always know how many things you opened through expanding posts. But that is less of an app issue, more of a user issue that is generally unavoidable.

***I HAVE RATED THIS 5 STARS SO IT WILL SHOW UP NEAR THE TOP*** Okay yeah it’s a good app and you can upload photos and it has social media functions on top of being an actual pixel art creator… but it also has all of the issues of an actual social media app. It is legit like Twitter but with more art. So dead. And Bryan/Terphic (the moderator) is actually almost a dictator on here; he runs the entire site and only likes anime girl images and therefore those are almost the only ones that get staff picks and therefore any popularity. It is also IN THE TOS that Bryan can take credit for the work of anyone who uploads pixel art on the app and profit off it, just if you use the app. Most of the users on the app are minors and cannot be paid for their work except if directly for commissions, which some facilitate on the app. The drama is a lot. This is legitimately a social media app, with some people literally doing ERPs on the site, so please exercise caution… This app is rated 9+, but due to the content on the app that comes with the social media features, it should be rated closer to 13+

this app is INFESTED with bugs. at the absolute least, the selection box’s corners stay on the screen until you make a new one. for some reason, layers get disarranged and when animating, deleting a layer from one frame acts as if it’s global, which is a whole other bug. sometimes the app doesn’t display your artwork right if you’ve changed anything so you just have to reopen the app (how i remedy the problem, anyway).as for design flaws, i don’t think you can rename layers (ignore this if i’m wrong), moving layers takes forever, you can’t group layers into folders, you can only undo a certain number of actions (although i’m not sure if this is a bug or not), and you can’t export a single frame of an animation—only the whole thing, and it has to be a gif. there also aren’t any quick gestures (e.g. tap with two fingers to undo), which isn’t too convenient. the ui is very cluttered, too. you can’t quickly switch between pencil and eraser, and every time you do an action that isn’t in a menu, it just does it and closes the menu. not the biggest issue out of all this, though it does get a little irritating.oh yeah, i forgot one thing: you can’t use a blending mode for a layer that has the clipping mask turned on.call an exterminator on this app

I’ve been using the website version of pixilart for a long time. It’s great, and with the mobile app it’s so convenient now to create my work whenever and wherever I am. I think the biggest issue I have is sometime it would crash while I’m working, deleting my progress since the last save. Also, another major issue I think is the community on the website itself. Not that it’s something they can fix really, but it can be very toxic and it’s a bit odd considering how young most of the users are. I think there should be more monitors or something to help with some of these conversations people are having on here.. otherwise, the drawing / posting portion of the app is great. POTD seems a bit random to me as well, I don’t know how they judge work and decide, but I’ve definitely seen some not so great pieces get it but amazing pieces not..
