Goalsetter - Debit Card & Banking For All
With Goalsetter, everyone can take control of their finances, learning money management skills to work their personal finances. With a debit card for everyone, you can learn to earn, spend smartly and save. Parents can send money to their kids' and teens' debit cards, control when it's active, and have complete insight into their transaction's history. Together, families can establish smart spending and saving habits.
Financial Literacy via Memes & Games
Our financial literacy quizzes are made for all family members of all ages - for adults, teens, kids, and tweens. All quizzes are mapped to national financial literacy standards, so every individual learns healthy money habits, financial language, and math skills through pop culture memes and gifs.
Chores & Allowance
Since we know that every family does allowance differently, we've set up Allowance Rules that let you give allowance according to your family's philosophy. You set up the amounts to pay each kid and link your bank account, and we'll make the weekly allowance transfers to your kids' Goalsetter accounts. No more IOUs required!
Savings & Goal Tracker
Kids and parents can set up goals within the app to save and track progress for long-term goals, whether a rainy day or a vacation fund. Families can contribute to these goals, and they also serve as a continued reminder for kids to be setting aside money for the future. Once the goal is met, the funds can be cashed out and used. Don't worry though; we know that plans change and life happens. You can cash out from a goal at any time.
Safety & Security
Goalsetter uses 128-bit encryption, and we do not store any of your personal information and do not move money without your authorization.

I (14m) downloaded this app because of my parents telling me to to help with finance. I decided to try out the test thing where you do a test to test your finance knowledge. When I did it each question has a meme (for old people who do not know what this is it’s basically a joke with and image) that takes up most of the time of taking the test about 5 seconds of the image and fading into the question with the answers fading in and the test questions and just bad in general like having answers that could be answered different ways depending how you think about it or questions about some random celebrities I have never heard about in my life. The other features of the app are fine it’s just the test feature the annoys me the most using it. 3/5The problems with the test feature of taking forever are gone and the new look of it is nice. It’s definitely improved a ton so 4/5 now.

A great start, but not yet there

I want so much to give this App Five Stars, but there are a few shortcomings that prevent me from doing so. For one, I had a question and reached out to customer service. I never heard back. I ended up having to figure out the answer on my own. The features in the App are not always intuitive and there a far too many steps to navigate to get to features that I believe should be direct links, for example, setting the auto-save monthly allowance seems to always turn itself to “off” for no reason. I have also repeatedly tried to “share with friends,” but the recommendation feature does not seem to always work on the receiving party’s end (not sure if this has to do with the device, but no one answered my question when I asked.) Also, parents need to both set up accounts if they want to use all the features. I created the account but Dad can only contribute, but not utilize all the features that I can for our kids. If they can figure out joint accounts, that would be a huge plus!! Otherwise, my kids love the cash card and like the option of figuring out how to move their money around. I’m definitely sticking around, but hope customer service improves and looking forward to the investing option, as are my kids. (I did notice that they ask you to share the app to increase your chances of getting on the investing list, but like I mentioned, that feature doesn’t seem to work well in allowing you to share. Is it a rouse?). But, I’m here for it!! Great start.
Issue resolved

I downloaded this app specifically for the round up rule. I connected my bank account and waited for funds to start being added when I made purchases, but nothing happened. I sent multiple emails asking for help as it was not working and nothing was being deposited in my kids goal accounts. After several weeks and MULTIPLE emails I sent one last email asking them to cancel my account and threatened to contact the BBB. I finally received a response stating my email must have been “lost in a black hole” and they canceled my account as requested. I find this so frustrating as I had sent so many emails and all I wanted was help fixing an issue. I would have been a long time customer had someone helped me. Very disappointed! I’ll be using stash from now on!UPDATE:I am changing my review as the CEO has reached out to me and rectified the situation. She reached out by email and even provided me with her personal cell phone number. She apologized and even gave my kids a free goalcard for my troubles. I am now giving the app another try and so far so good. I really do think this app is a fantastic way to save for your children which is why I did not hesitate to give it another try once my issues had been resolved. Thank you goalsetter for reaching out to me, it is appreciated more than you!

Hi Apruiett...I'm so sorry that you had this experience with us. We had a few weeks of significant growth that were unexpected, and the result was that we disappointed you and let you down. And as a result, we let your kids d own, because the whole reason we exist is to make saving easy and fun for kids. As the founder and CEO of Goalsetter, I take personal responsibility for this disappointment, and would love to ask you for a second chance to prove that we can, and will, do better. Whether you decide to give us one - or just want to vent - you can contact me directly at tanya@goalsetter.co, and I'll listen and respond to your concerns immediately. I'll even get on a call with you and take your feedback - or tongue-lashing - directly, because it's how we will grow and evolve. I apologize, again, and want you to know that we're fixing this problem, and that's because you made us pay attention to it. Thank you for doing so.
Highly recommend! It’s helping the whole family reach our financial goals!

While I was raised by two fabulous parents, fiscal responsibility wasn’t necessarily prioritized. Perhaps it was because there wasn’t that much money to begin with! While I learned the hard way how to manage money, I still dropped the ball when it came to teaching my children the lessons I learned the hard way. That’s why I absolutely love the Goalsetter app! It’s really helped me engage with my kids about money. It sparks conversations about what they’re doing with their money and why. I recently ordered the Cashola card for my 14-year-old son, and it’s been amazing. He’s really cognizant of his spending, and we really love the regular “lit quizzes” that he takes to enable the use of his cards We do the questions (which are great!) together and have a good time. I think I’d been so lax about teaching my kids about spending and saving because I didn’t have a blueprint or guide, but Goalsetter has served that purpose. And while this has been about my kids, the app is helping me better shape my own financial goals and rethink some of the fiscal decisions I’ve made. We are becoming much more intentional about money as family and this app – and the Cashola card – has help immensely. I highly recommend this!!!
