First time user and was not very happy. We took our daughter (4) on her first flight. Booked through Gotogate website and was instructed to use app to make things easier. 👎🏻 mine and my husband’s ticket were ok but when we went to scan our daughters boarding pass at security it wouldn’t work. We tried to re-checkin because the security supervisor said something about the tickets had changed since it was last updated. I had to take my 4 year old back to the ticket counter and download the airline app to get things fixed. All this after we’d already stood in line at security. So glad we were early and didn’t miss our flight. We will be deleting the app and only using the airline’s app on the way home.

I booked a flight from Detroit to Hyderabad on dec 11th and from Hyderabad to Detroit on Jan 22nd for two passengers which costs me 3395 usd. At time of booking they never mentioned about any self transfer or transit visa before booking. When I went to check in they denied us by saying this journey needs a transit visa and which I’m not aware of so I can’t board. I explained the situation to airlines and Gotogate and airlines said that they will book me a ticket for the next available flight but asked for to pay the price difference and I agreed to that and went on to booking but the changes were denied as I booked my flight ticket through booking website Gotogate and whatever changes have to make are to be made by them. So I asked Gotogate to change it and said I will even pay the price difference and processing fees. But they said they won’t and they didn’t want to make any contact with airlines and elegant me to book a new round trip ticket for two passengers which will costs me again like more than 5000 usd. And I have been calling to Gotogate customer service and mailing them for three days continuously and no response in email and in phone calls they talk rudely and disconnect the calls and say my issue was escalated to higher team and get a call back and didn’t get a call back from any of them and it’s been 3 days since I missed the flight and all my appointments are cancelled and my father is sick in India and I have to visit but they are not letting me. They made to feel torture for the last three days and I have had lot of distress and all my work and plans and appointments all are gone to waste which makes me lose so much money and even have medical emergency but they didn’t care about anything. Nobody please don’t ever use this website just book your ticket directly with the airlines and these guys are not allowing to make any changes. They are worst people I have ever seen in the planet and their customer service and support team are horrible and don’t value customer.

Despicable business. I know the airline has refunded them (because I called the airline) and they refuse to reimburse me. They keep sending emails threatening to charge $30 if they have to help with refund. Believe me I’ve done all the work, and I have gotten the refund processed. But Gotogate fails to reimburse customers and their phone line makes you wait on hold forever and then answers with a dead line. I wish I had never clicked on Gotogate for purchase of airline ticket.If you’re reading this, please do not ever ever ever book through Gotogate. Book with airline directly or use any other travel agency. This is not a travel service, but a travel disservice. Seriously I would’ve had my money back from multiple covid-cancelled flights and wouldn’t have had to waste so much time trying to fight Gotogate. I haven’t received a penny back from them and have three canceled flights through them :/Other friends on the same flights already have their money back because they didn’t use Gotogate.

A couple weeks ago, I booked an international flight that clearly included baggage in the fare, but the issued ticket didn’t include baggage. The ticket was cancellable, so I requested a refund within minutes, but GoToGate held onto a $60 service fee. GoToGate has refused to refund their $60 lack-of-service charge, and it turns out that there are facebook groups with thousands of members devoted to GoToGate refund claims. And now, the virtual card that I used with GoToGate has suddenly been getting fraudulent charges after half a decade with no problems, suggesting that maybe GoToGate was also a security breach. Bottom line, avoid at all costs. Hopefully, these guys are just having massive technical glitches as the travel industry ramps back up, and not intentionally scamming the literally thousands of users complaining about them on facebook, but either way, this isn’t an app for worry-free transactions.
