We utilize the app at the high school and Jr program level. Once you get an understanding of general play design, the user interface makes designing plays a breeze! Additionally, it’s great to give our coaches and athletes access for play study. We also give d coordinators access to design and draft defensive plays. The all in one solution for plays call sheets and wristband print outs are awesome. We have various size wristbands and they accommodate all sizes that we have used. Please note, an extensive playbook, with over 90 plays would require a 5 screen wristband. During 7v7 season we do design specialty plays and insert diagrams in to wristbands which is awesome; our athletes pick up on these pretty quickly. The best part; customer service! We had an incident in which a coach accidentally deleted our entire playbook (you can changes access to not allow any changes, which we’ve done). I reached out to their customer support, and they resolved the solution by restoring our playbook (app is cloud based, when changes are made it syncs to all users). Originally I was using PowerPoint and creating my own playbooks because I didn’t like the functionality of the apps available, another coach from another team that coached 7on7 with said he used this app so I tried it out and haven’t used anything since. They keep adding functions that make it even better. I also love that I can add my coaching staff and players. I was using Playmaker Tackle for tackle and Playmaker Flag for 7 but just decided to use Playmaker Tackle and reduce the player count so I didn’t have to pay for both apps and just archive the playbook I am not using during that season. I will stay a user fora long time!

I’ve used playmaker tackle football and playmaker flag for a few years now. Both were pretty useful in putting ideas down on paper in a clear and concise way. Playmaker x continues In the tradition of the previous playmakers, but it has added animation to the app. I really love the animation. The coaches I work with like and the kids really liked as well. The problem have is that it isn’t as easy to use as I would like it to be. Animating the players is pretty easy. Point then in a direction and they move. Animating the football is a much tougher. As a person with big hands, it’s tough for me to move the football without moving the lineman, Qb or running back. A fix to this would be a zoom feature onto the screen so that u can actually see what you’re trying to do. It would make following the lines a lot easier as well. The football should also default to the star player on the screen. That would help with making the plays. There are also a few widgets in the program that I haven’t seen defined. So I don’t know what their purpose is for.
