Probably the best app that people from the US can use. Much better than Coinbase, though Coinbase’s offerings are improving. Not nearly as good as real Binance or Kucoin. Much better than the crappy US version of Binance or FTX. For someone from the US, this is probably the best out of the bad options since we have a government that is trying to stifle financial innovation and an SEC head that doesn’t know crypto from a hole in the ground. The worst part of this app is that the good crypto isn’t available like CFG and GLMR. But that’s more Gensler’s fault than Kraken. Maybe someday the US Goverment will wake up and realize that the decentralized economy will happen with or without us and, basically, we are going to get left in the dust while all the opportunities materialize in other countries. If we had some reasonable laws that gave Americans access to the deepest liquidity and lifted restrictions on airdrops and other financial opportunities, at least for accredited investors at the bare minimum, then that only gives us a chance of success in the new economy, not even a guarantee, just a fighting chance instead of no chance at all. The US cannot stop crypto, they can only make sure that all the best crypto opportunities happen to non-Americans and make sure that Americans are neither competitive nor successful.

Fast maintenance downtime (15Min average).Best Cross platform exchange from using your phone on-the-go, to trading at your desktop e.g. alerts you set on one will automatically be set on the other and notify you on both. My only complaint is that alerts can sometimes take longer to notify you on your mobile app vs instant on your desktop- I would blame my phone carrier but I have granted Kraken pro permission to run in the background non stop with no data limits set, & every where I go I get 5GUW, but I have noticed that this problem mainly happens with alerts that are more than a day or so old. Super legit tax tool simplifies your entire experience.All-in-all, I have tried many many exchanges and I prefer Kraken Pro over every single one, even the regular Kraken app and the new Krak app. Even if you aren’t experienced, I suggest Kraken Pro for the cheaper fees and if you want to expand your knowledge you already have what you need. Ps double check your fib tool when you draw it, it can throw you off if you’re not pulling it correctly.

I used Kraken for 3 months to successfully make occasional international transfers. I upgraded to Kraken Pro to save money on transactions. Last week, I attempted a purchase similar to the way I had done before, account was restricted. My deposit of over $2000 was pending in processing for several days longer than it should have taken. I spent hours talking to their chat bot. Eventually, a human, I presume, told me they had decided to close my account and my approximately $2600 was returned to me. I then asked for a refund of my fees for Kraken Pro, which I had not gotten the benefit of because Kraken had decided to restrict my account. I only asked for a return of my fees for the period of time that my account was restricted, which apparently was about two months. It’s a small amount of money, but it’s the principle. I paid for a service that I could not use. And it took days of my time of unsuccessful purchase attempts and back and forth conversations with Kraken “customer service” (bot) to try to get resolution on a why my transaction would not go through, and then the Kraken decision to close my account. After that decision, for which there was no appeal, I was only asking for a refund of the monthly fee I paid for Kraken Pro during the time my account was restricted. Their customer service was horrible to work with. I have since found another crypto company. I do not recommend working with Kraken. The customer service is awful. I would never trust them with a dime again.

As a user from the USA but living abroad the number of Exchanges that will register AND also work smoothly are shockingly few. I tried 12 different exchanges and only 4 were successful to register, of those, Kraken Pro was the only one with a pleasant user experience. Swan and BitcoinWell are appealing BTC only exchanges, but both had glitches or regulations that did not live up to their advertisement. Coinbase was the other exchange I compared and it was similar to Kraken. Their use of USDC with interest was appealing (as Kraken can’t offer that currently to US users), and their (free) Advanced Trade mode was a big improvement over the “regular” fees. But then I discovered that Kraken has the PRO App for free as well, and it is hands down the better UI and better fees. Kraken Pro: 0.25% Limit buy fees (vs. 0.6% on CB) and free Lightning transfer (or flat 20k sats BTC transfer fee). I don’t know why anyone would use the “regular” App, and it seems a bit of a charade for Coinbase and Kraken to have two versions like this, but those who research are rewarded. Kraken for the win.
