While the hardware stays widely the same throughout all applications and is mainly divided in only 2 types (6HP19/21 and 6HP26/28 for 6-Speed, 8HP45/50/51 and 8HP70/75/76 for 8-Speed), the software inside the controller makes it possible to adapt the transmission, to every vehicle and mimic a wide range of driver styles. This software and team are on top of their stuff. I originally had this on my F97 X3MC and just got it for my X5MC. (Today was break in drive, tonight I’m happy to open it up a bit.) Used the XHP obd adapter, simple plug and play. The app is easy to use and explains it all right there. Even gives you the spec sheet of your truck! Love the stages of tune from moderate to track essentially. Many options and misc things to adjust and fine tune to your liking. Customer service has been amazing for a company that is remote. Fast, responsive, and solutions to any questions/ problems I had. Christoph was a 10 out of 10- would recommend.

Used multiple devices to try and connect . Followed all over there to instructions . Even the re-emailed one they provided. Took it to a shop . They even had a hard time with connecting . Still had to pay for there labor Had the vehicle on a battery tender. I eventually had to use a power tap obd2 doggle. That i use for VW/Audi. Then it came down to no internet connection . Laptop , tablet , and iPhone 11 Pro Max w/ 17.5.1 iOS still could not connect. Even took out my pedal commander and motiv reflex box to make sure there was no disturbance to the canbus system . Turned off Bluetooth connection for infotainment system. Tried everything . I can connect to bm3 no issue. I can connect my snap on triton scanner updated to 2026 (monthly $45 subscription) . Now they are threatening to lock my tcu because I requested a refund. Yea that’s against the law bucko. Show me the contract with my signature. Not trying to be a stifler by any means . But you can’t advertise hand held and none of my devices connect . Send me my refund .

Regardless of chosen stage, an xHP tune on the ZF8 will drastically change the feel of the car in both comfort and all sport modes. I find it necessary to still go through the individual settings and select the desired ones, and also customize any settings that can be changed to your liking (of which there are a lot). Afterwards, many aspects of your car will be closer to those of your “dream” vehicle. I also appreciate the ability to go through the app and see what stage and settings were most recently flashed, even when not connected, which allows me to go over any changes I want to make prior to heading to my vehicle. Finally, flash times are relatively fast. The initial one was done within a minute, and subsequent ones that only involve customization/settings changes are done within 15-30 seconds. It’s rare to find a vehicle app that functions just as well as the underlying vehicle software. This is a prime example of that rare occurrence.

I’ve been driving my F85 without the XHP Flashtool for a while, and while the transmission shifts and blips were decent, the difference after flashing it with XHP was incredible. The blips became noticeably louder, and the shifting speed is insanely fast—truly a game-changer.Recently, I sold my F85 and bought another one. I was pleasantly surprised at how smooth the license transfer process was. After sending a request via email, the transfer was completed in just about 5 minutes. The service was outstanding. Highly impressed with both the product and the support team!
