Disgaea 1 Complete + is a completely different game than its non mobile counterparts. The reason is because the touch screen controls for ordering your units around the map are very difficult to use, and at this time the game has no controller support. Thus I used auto battle for all times except when destroying certain geo panels was necessary. In addition the game has 8x speed and auto repeat stages. This makes the game feel more like a gacha game without any energy restrictions keeping you from playing levels. So for me the game became a game of building characters and powerful equipment in the item world, rather than a game about tactical combat and clever problem solving, which the game originally was. In addition, due to the 8x speed, the original 40 hour game took me about 14 hours to beat all but the craziest end game content. But I have played many Disgaea games so I already knew the mechanics and I skipped about 2 hours of cutscenes that I had already seen. This is probably a fine game for people new to the franchise. It is a difficult game so don’t be surprised if get you stuck by level 3, but with auto play it is incredibly easy to brute force your way through all the missions, even the ones that typically require cleverness to beat. In addition money is hard to come by at the start of the game so be sure to save some money for healing. I had no crashes at all, and for the mobile port they added a drop down list of all the vendors you can go to so you don’t need to wander around your home base the entire game. At 32$ it is up to your budget if it is worth it, so probably wait for a sale on this one.

everything is amazing in this app version of the game, im leaving it a 5 star because its through and through a great play .. im aware of how it was last updated 6 years ago, im recording a play through and it just for some reason keeps crashing .. i was playing the ds rom on delta emulator but i decided to scrap 44 hrs and start clean with a legitimate copy where i actually pay the game & the company its monetary value. honestly i would have paid more . the disappointment is in the crashing .. i did a little research and apparently it’s the app . i have a pretty good phone that can run this game . just wanted to share this with Disgaea’s team .. it might be an old game but it’s still fresh in people who are newly discovering it .. and for it to be 32 bucks just to crash is a heart breaker . if you guys are aware of this i feel without feeling that a patch would be worth while for this legend of a game . thank ya’ll & God bless

There’s so many lazy ports to mobile floating around, but the revamped mobile UI in this game is a great example of how to translate a console game into something intuitive. Lots of new tappable icons and context-sensitive controls. The hub world opens up “hot key” icons for shops in chapter 2, so you can really streamline the experience from that point. Only major complaint at the moment is how clunky it is to go from “move character” to “select that character’s action”. Hopefully it’ll get a patch for that, though it’s not game breaking. Autobattle is a treasure for Mobile. Disgaea was already widely known as the game which learned how to make grinding/character raising as interesting and fun as possible. But now they’ve added it in full to the best platform for idle games and tossed a solid autobattle option into it! It’s a match made in grinding heaven... or netherworld as the case may be.

As a long-term fan of Disgaea games, I’m loving it so far. Very polished. Works great on my iPad Pro. The user interface is fantastic. The fonts are fairly tiny but still crisp and easy to read. I worried about this because there’s a lot of info to display in these games and my eyesight isn’t what it once was. Whew! Surprisingly, it’s actually readable on my phone too. Go figure.It is such a refreshing change from all the freeware crap out there with IAP (pardon my language). Well worth the money for a game that may no doubt amuse me for hundreds of hours. Two thumbs up!Review subject to change as I get further in, but I am very optimistic! Been playing for about an hour. Absolutely no complaints so far. Exceeds my expectations! Beautiful graphics, wonderful music/sound, great voice dialogue, and excellent nearly endless and deep RPG game play!! Yes!!!
